Rock House Builders

We hired ROCK House Builders /Jeff Mitchum for installing a walk-in shower on second floor for $4,985. They cut a hole in the ceiling of first floor without notify me or ask me first. A year later, it leaks from the hole in the ceiling. I have been calling Jeff Mitchum for more than a week. He said he would take a look when he has time. He has never called me and never showed up. Extremely unprofessional and not trustworthy. The quality of work is beyond terrible. I would strongly DISCOURAGE anyone to use this company for any project. Absolutely NOT recommend this company.

Jeff Mitchum came to my home and we signed a contract to remove a post in my den, remove existing wood stair banisters that were to be replaced with iron. His two guys worked 1 and1/2 day and never came back this was suppose to be a 4-6 day job that was ro be finished Dec 12, 2017. I did give Jeff a deposit to buy supplies I never got the supplies and my den with no railing on a 14 foot catwalk. He did show up two times unannounced stating he was sorry it was taking so long and he would make it right, the second time he showed up to tell us he was filing bankruptcy but he still planned to finish the job. He did send a guy to my home to look at the job that he was going to get to help him finish. This was a Wednesday, the guy called Jeff from his cell phone, because he was not answering my calls, Jeff answered and told this he was bringing the supplies to my home on Thursday and start working to get the job done. He never showed up the job is still not completed and it is the end of March. I would not recommend this company!!!

See F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Do your research and see numerous complaints and suits against Rock House. Contracted with him for a renovation and addition. Horrible experience. I had doubt about him after about the 2nd month. Tried to trust him but he ended up leaving the job, several areas of project incomplete that had been paid for and he walked off with more money even when he knew he being dishonest. He gave us a copy of a builders risk policy that was never paid so we were uninsured as well. Giving him one star and an F rating with the BBB is generous. If there were a lower level, I would give it.

Contracted Rich House Builders for installing a walk-in shower and partial hardwood floor to replace carpet. They delayed completion by Doubling the promised time (2 weeks became 4 weeks) to complete the remodeling. They Charged premium fee and turned out with ameture kind work quality. Extremely disappointed. Would not recommend this company to anyone who doesn’t want headaches and endless troubles.

Initial discussion with Rock House Builders was cordial and informative. I am meeting with Rock House Builders next week to review the project and discuss a cost estimate. So far, I am impressed.

I highly recommend Rock House Builders for any home renovation and roof work. Jeff is friendly and helpful. He has some great guys working for him. Although it took longer than I expected, our remodeled master bath is wonderful and spa like! My neighbors are impressed! We love using it! We also have a beautiful new roof as we had bad hail damage. We are very pleased with everything! Jeff was great to work with! B. Franklin

"I highly recommend Rock House Builders as contractors as contractors for household renovations. A recent hail storm forced us to replace our roof. Jeff Michum (the owner) came to our house with a professional, cheerful attitude and gave us a very reasonable bid for the job. He had a good variety of color samples to choose from and gave us a detailed description of the work process. The men arrived on time, worked diligently all day and were respectful of our property with their preparedness. In the end, we have a beautiful roof and have received neighborhood compliments. They cleaned the property well using a magnet to pick up nails and other metal debris. No, I am not a relative or friend, but it has been a pleasant experience and I would not hesitate asking him to do other projects if need be." Layman Q.
