    Remodel
    $24,000

I have an identical story of many here! John Walker of Rockies Renovations got me for $24,000 in November 2018. Would LOVE to do a class action lawsuit!
[email protected] I did get a judgement against him. He filed bankruptcy and started a new business. Still hanging out in Waterford. HORRIBLE PERSON

Anyone interested in bringing a class action lawsuit against this con artist please contact me. We got screwed out of over $25,000 and he never did ANYTHING but take the money with full knowledge that he wasn't going to do any work! Considering how many others he has bilked out of enormous amounts I am going to contact the department which handles licensing and also the Wayne County's DA's office and the State Attorney General to file a complaint for criminal prosecution which I would strongly encourage others to do as well. My email is [email protected] and my phone number is 313.788.5028. If no answer please leave a voicemail or text message.

    Expansion of garage

Our experience is identical to the other one star reviews for this company. We signed a contract with with them in the fall if 2017. We agreed to hire them because Rock who was supposed to be supervising assured us that the project will surely be completed if not by Thanksgiving then soon after.

Then they disappeared. They showed up for two days to destroy the outside of our garage, hack down our lilac and leave a mess in the back yard. Nothing has been done. Based on our experience and the other reviews that have been posted on line, we believe this company takes money from customers without intending to complete the work, thus effectively stealing from customers. The reviews all read the same. It is shocking.

At this time we are consulting with our lawyer regarding termination of the contract and possible legal action.

    Second floor renovation
    $20,000

I hired Rockies Renovations LLC and entered into a written contract on in October 2017 for a complete second floor renovation project at my home. They estimated 1.5 months of labor, start to finish. In late December, 2017 they stopped showing up to my project entirely. Since then, they have ignored multiple attempts at resolution from myself and my lawyer. I have paid them over 20k (80%) of the costs as outlined in our contract, and they have completely abandoned me. They gutted my entire second floor and left it without insulation or dry wall in the dead of winter. Despite multiple attempts at resolution I have since terminated the contract and will be filing claims against their builders license. Be vary wary of any theatrically positive reviews listed on this site or others. Would never recommend them to anyone looking to have any type of work done. As stated in other reviews, unprofessional and downright unethical.

We had Rockies Renovations do the demo and foundation for our project. They removed a back room and garage, and all the footings, garage floor, and driveway. They excavated the crawl space for two new addition areas and installed 174 lineal feet of footings.

I was amazed at the speed of the demolition. They hit the ground running and had the garage removed on the first day. Very precise work - they had 4 or 5 people working to push the garage over in just the right spot to finish the demo fast. The back room required a delicate touch and was removed off the house over the next few days. The opening into the house from the back room was temporarily sealed up and I have not noticed any drafts.

The excavation work was top notch. The excavator became part of the operators body as he worked it. It was like watching surgery being performed - many deep footings were pulled from the ground where the back room had been, including a massive 6x3 foot by 4 foot deep footing for a fireplace. All that work plus digging the footing trenches was done in one day.

From the initial quote, to the completion of the work, Rockies Renovations really set themselves apart from the competition. They have a full team of people working for them, and I was able to develop relationships with many of them. I hope to stay in contact with them and work together on future projects. Thanks guys!

    Kitchen, Bathroom and Basement remodel
    $17,000

We hired Rockies Renovations on Oct 5, 2017. They asked for a 50% deposit of $4250. Upon paying the deposit, they disappeared. They reengaged with us in the last week of Nov. We gave them a second chance and signed a new contract on Nov 30 to start on Dec 1 and finish by Dec 31. They would come to the property, work a couple hours, and then leave. The only time they would reach out is for additional payment. To date we have paid them $15K out of the $17K project.

This show continued till the last week of Feb 2018 where I gave them an ultimatum of finishing by March 1. On March 1, we would either sign a completion or termination agreement. On 2/26, Rock assured me that everything will be done by March 1st. Since our phone call on 2/26, not one text or call was sent about the status.

More than 40% of the project still remains to be completed. 1 out of 2 bathroom remains, kitchen is 50% done, garage roof, electrical panel, garage door and basement painting remain. In addition, Rockies personnel purchased $636 of tools during phone sales. Not to mention a backyard full of junk that they said in late Dec they would get a dumpster. Not a single permit was filed on the property even though our contract states permitted work for electrical panel, garage roof and plumbing.

    $5,000

We hired Rockie’s Renovation to perform a $5,000 repair of our back deck. They required a payment of $3,300 before they started. We made our initial payment in Jan 17. From there, they were basically gone. They didn’t actually start doing any work until late March (two months after we made payment). They would show up for a day, do a few hours of work and then not show up again for sometimes weeks at a time. This went on for months! I continued to reach out to “Rock” (my contact) through phone (at office), cell, text and email. Rock continued to make commitments that he never followed through on. This dance went on until September, when they stopped showing up. They did leave about a third of the wood required to complete the project…I guess they figured we’d hire someone else. In the end, they completed less than half of the work, which took them nearly 9 months from when we made our initial payment. Basically, they stole this money from us. This company has no ethics what so ever. I would highly recommend that no one use this company! Worst experience ever!
