I hired Eloy Molina at Rodeo Construction based on the fact he was an authorized dealer for the patio screens I wanted for a new covered patio. Eloy told me he had installed the screens before and how beautiful they turned out. I also inquired about a bathroom addition and I decided to do a package deal with this contractor for a custom bathroom and covered patio with these great vinyl screens. The price was reasonable and the time frame of 45 business days was acceptable.
11 months later, the project has not been completed. After speaking with the screen manufacturer myself, it turns out he was never even trained to install the vinyl screens and never even ordered the screens despite several straight faced lies to my face that he had ordered them. After I spoke with the screen manufacturer I asked Eloy again when the screens that he had "ordered" several months ago would arrive. He told me they were custom and they take time. Of course I already knew that he had never ordered them.
The work that was done was handyman quality at best except for the electricians who were very honest and professional. The building inspections failed several times indicating that this contractor has no clue of what he was doing. After several months of asking Eloy when the bathroom would be completed, it was finally "completed" in May, a full 10 months after the contract. The bathroom tile was done by 4 different people so there was no consistency. I was told I could buy a vanity cabinet that was 48" but the measurements were not even close so I had to return the cabinet eating $350 in shipping charges. I had a very simple vanity installed by "his guy" instead (which took several weeks) but he never left room for the drawer to open with a tiled wall so I couldn't use the design I wanted for the tile. The marble floors were never sealed causing water damage after the first usage. They never cleaned up after themselves leaving garbage in the bathroom and outside.
The plumbers left piping in the front and backyard and holes in my walls to run water lines for literally months. I also caught one plumber on video walking and looking through my house for no reason after I had told him I left for work. The plumber also didn't know how to install a steam shower despite previously stating he did.
When the building inspector came over to do the final building inspection, I told him I'd be seeking a lawyer because he lied about the screens and took 10 months for a self-quoted 45 day project, the inspector was not surprised that Eloy didn't finish the job. The inspector spoke on the phone with Eloy right in front of me and blatantly asked him, "are you completely finished with this job and will not need to come back for any reason?", Eloy responded that he was completed. The inspector asked him again, "so there's no reason for you to come back at all to finish anything?" Eloy again said no. That was proof that he never intended to install the screens and that the entire contract was a farce.
Lies after lies and shoddy workmanship is what I got for an uncompleted job after 11 months. A general contractor is supposed to oversee the project but Eloy was generally clueless when it came to my project. Eloy Molina is a shady man who I would highly recommend staying away from.
I tried Buildzoom once for this project. I used HomeAdvisor my my next project and was very happy as a 275ft fence and storage shed were installed in less than a week. Sorry, Bulidzoom but allowing shady and unethical businesses to lurk on your site is enough for me to never seek your assistance again.
