Difficulty communicating some basic common sense aspects of the project. Eventually got it done correctly, but only because I was on top of things. Had a driveway extension done, contractor initially told me that he had not budgeted to shave down the curb, or the approach, which would’ve meant I had an extension for my driveway, but I could not drive a vehicle up into the driveway. That would make absolutely no sense. I had showed him examples of exactly what I wanted done and thought he understood. He eventually cut the curb down so I could access the driveway, but then was upset about it as if I should’ve paid him extra for that. After several months, the transition from the driveway where it slopes to the street began cracking. When I reached out to express concerns to the contractor, he ignored my text message and email. When I called him later to discuss, he said he performed the work to code and had no interest in going out and looking at it or trying to fix it and was still upset saying that he did extra work for me that I didn’t pay for. As if a customer is supposed to pay for the contractor’s mistakes. He might come in a little bit more affordable than other contractors, but in the end, you’re probably getting what you pay for.
