  I got Carlos M. Rodriguez by mistake, but decided to go with him. He was personable and helpful in coming up with a design for remodeling my kitchen. He listened to my wants for the space. In addition, his people repaired several places in the house that needed taping repaired. Their work was really good.
  My main complaint is that Carlos is the only one who really spoke any amount of English, and he wasn't around a lot of the time, taking care of other projects that needed his attention. I'm 87 and he had assured me that his crew would be sensitive to my possessions and that everything would be either covered or carefully put in the many boxes available. I offered to help put things in boxes, but he assured me his crew would take care of everything. Well, I was distressed to find many of my collectibles stuffed into the fireplace (which has never been used), and the head broken off of a glass angel and the tails of two Oaxaca cats are missing.
  Pricey items were put outside and left for several days while working on the re-taping areas. Thankfully, the weather was great!
  It was nearly impossible to communicate with his crew, although one man had a translation app on his phone. One young man had his trousers below his butt, which I found very disrespectful.
  In short, the work was pretty good. I had to point out several details that were missed and needed corrected. I suggested to Carlos that his crew is used to working on new construction and being in an existing home wasn't the best. He did have a lady come and clean after they were finished. She did a good job!
  Being new to remodeling, the next time I will have a couple of estimates as I'm not convinced this job was priced fairly. It seemed pretty high.

  Replace the roof, paint outside the house and replace the deck.

  $20,000

  The roof and the paint jab was good, the deck is a disaster, not professional at all, and very pricy. The contract said "remove existing deck, posts and supports, rebuilt all new". "Replace all vents, instal new vents".
  They did NOT replace the posts and the supports, they just added on the old once. They did NOT replaced the vents. The finishing of the deck looks very unprofessional, cheep and poor. Instead of screws they used nails for easy job. We couldn't even communicate with them because they only spoke Spanish. Only the boss, Mr. Rodriguez spoke english, who wasn't around most of the time. Just be careful who you hire.
