By Drea M.May 21, 2018New Home Construction$800,000
We hired Ryan Rogers of Rogers Construction Team license #991463 to build our new house. During construction, two subcontractors complained that Rogers Construction Team did not pay them for the work they completed. We feared more of the same problems would arise and construction would be further delayed so we cancelled the contract. Our contract with Rogers said either party had the absolute right to cancel the contract and that he would bill for work that was completed, which was $14,000 and only up to the rebar was done. We had to hire another contractor and pay out of pocket to have the foundation done because if we didn't, winter weather could have ruined the rebar, requiring it to be redone before foundation could be done. We even had to pay for the rebar to be fixed before the foundation was poured because it wasn't even done correctly in the first place. Rogers was rarely at the job site supervising and communication with him was horrid. At one point, he didn't respond to us for a whole month. Now he’s suing us for $74,771, after we sued him for $28,546.68 due to him overcharging us for permits. Construction began in December 2016, and currently all we have to show is the foundation of the house (which he didn't even do) and unwarranted lawsuits.

By Kristin S.April 8, 2018New construction home build$900,000
This is the worst contractor. DO NOT HIRE HIM! We hired him to build a custom home and not only did he do an extremely poor job, he failed to pay subs, we went weeks without anyone working on the job site, the city shut us down for excessive trash, Rogers was rarely there supervising and finally when we fired him he had the nerve to sue us for damages. Now 2 years into building the home we have had to spend thousands of dollars fixing his poor construction build and now I do not want to even live in this house due to the fear of all the problems it will have. LISTEN TO ME DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!

We hired Ryan Rogers to build our house in Carlsbad. During construction, two subcontractors complained that Rogers Construction didn’t pay them for the work they did. We were scared more of the same problems would arise and construction would be further delayed so we decided to cancel the contract. Our contract with Rogers said either party had the absolute right to cancel the contract and that he would bill for work that was completed, which was $14,000. He only completed up to the rebar. We had to hire another contractor and pay out of pocket to have the foundation done because if we didn't, winter weather could have ruined the rebar, requiring it to be redone before foundation could be done. Now he’s suing us for $74,771, after we sued him for $28,546.68 due to him overcharging us for permits. After over a year since construction began, all we have to show is the foundation of the house (which he didn't even do) and unwarranted lawsuits. If you really want to get a home built in a timely manner and not have to deal with lawsuits with your contractor, I strongly recommend not hiring Rogers Construction Team.

Permits
- Building permit records show that Rogers Construction Team has worked on 17 permitted projects.
We had a dispute with Rogers about permit fees, so under our express rights in our contract we decided to terminate the agreement. Rogers then attempted to charge us $673,427 for work that he didn't do. In addition, the subcontractors came to our residence asking to be paid, since Rogers wasn't paying his subcontractors. Project deadlines were not being met. I warn everyone, do not do business with Ryan Rogers Construction.
