RE: Roof Depot Complaint, 11260 Old Roswell Road Rowell GA
We hired Roof Depot to repair our front patio roof and replace it with matte black stain resistance coated metal. February 4,2019, Roof Depot sub contracted a team to do the word. They damaged and chipped our garage brick facing, damaged the ends of the metal clips; which is very visible. In addition, damaged our siding. We just had Rhino Shields change the color of our home with protective coating which was very expensive. The sub-contractors were going to leave without telling us of the damages. My wife and I notice the damage. I told them damages needed to be repsired. The lead contractor told me that they would have to get the approval from their boss.
The inspector came out and verify damages and stated that all damages would be fixed. While speaking with the inspector, my wife and I was willing to let the damage to the brick go (because we looked on YouTube and it appeared a simple fix) until they sent a sub-contractor team to replace the two areas of the damage sidings and NO OTHER REPAIRS. What was even more disturbing is the sub-contractor purchased the siding before coming to our home to determine the type siding needed. The had put on miss matched siding. My husband informed the contractors that we have a strict HOA and showed them the homes to the left and right of us with same siding. Also, took the contracted to the back of the house to show him where siding had been previously preplaced due to damage from groundskeepers which was they purchased from Lowes. The contractor told us that Lowes did not have the type of siding on our community homes. After the contractors left, We went to Lowes and took photos of actual sidings that is on our home. What the sub-contractors did was instead of purchasing the right siding they purchased the cheapest siding. So, they lied!
In communicating the subcontractor’s unprofessionalism and substandard work to Roof Depot supervisor; instead of fixing the damages this is his response via email:
“At this time I feel it is
best for us to extend a discount for the work not being
performed to you and your HOA standards and not matching the
exact profile running through the small pieces of siding
    that were replaced.

    I will be deducting a
total of $310.00 on your final invoice, this
includes labor pricing to spray the end of the standing seam
metal and to replace the siding as well. That amount also
includes the sheet of decking that was
delivered and there was not any compromised decking on the
porch that needed to be replaced.

    Unfortunately with the
punch items involved we will not be able to accomplish this
    moving forward.

    Once you receive the final
invoice of $1490.00 that will be the final
price that we will need to collect payment on for the work
performed. I believe this is the best solution to the punch
items at this time, if this is unacceptable
for you guys please feel free to contact me to discuss”.

Although, we expressed we wanted the repairs done, the company refused and deemed that $310 was sufficient for damages. Not even taken considerations of all damages and the inconveniences of having to do research into finding someone to fix their mess-ups. It is a disgrace that it is getting to the point where you can’t get professional work done. I do not recommend using this company.
