    Siding and paint
    $11,000

    Poor project management, supervision, and quality. I used Roof Time for siding and exterior paint.
    Initially started with siding material substations not disclosed to me until I saw the material and asked. Work was started without procuring the correct siding in advance so day they removed siding the contracted material was not available.
    Next the quality of the siding installation was terrible. Angles cut on the siding between first and second story did not match the rake angle of the roof so much that the original trim mounding would not cover the gap. Had to use a wider trim board to cover the approximate 3” gap on some places at the top.
    Next came a paint substitution that was not per contest or disclosed until I asked. The correct paint was not available the day they started painting. Once questioned they did agree to go find the correct paint which entailed contacting a few more paint stores in the area.
    First flew days the lawn and worksite was left messy with debris and trash, later days seemed better but only after they witnessed me picking up debris. Typically some debris food wrappers or cans could be found at the end of each day.
    Paint preparation was minimal and masking was shoddy. Areas of brick, door knobs, etc were painted. One brick wall was later found to have paint blobs / runs that looked like sea gulls had passed by. Caulking was minimal with several areas missed which I caulked after they left one day. They had no intention of caulking numerous vertical trim boards on a separate garage so I caulked those joints on a day they took off for rain. In masking a personnel door I witnessed and videoed a worker use a light wrought iron patio chair as a ladder that was originally 30’ or so from his work. The reason I finally did a rating was I just discovered they did not mask a security light well and painted over the controls so it does not work properly anymore.
    In addition the project lead was less than impressive and actually somewhat sketchy. He was not on site most of the time, the painters seemed to have to run get materials and supplies on the day needed at least until materials substitutes became an issue. Also in virtually every conversation we had with him he would ask inappropriate questions regarding the property. He asked about size of home, to what condition it was inside, to asking about vehicles and what we had or stored in various buildings.
    Once completed we found many issues that needed corrected or cleaned up. Rather than deal with the lead and others again over days or possible weeks to coordinate we accepted a seemingly negligible cost reduction to end the experience.
    The job was estimated to be 3-4 days and ran into the next week with one rain delay day
    I would not recommend this company for siding or painting.
