Very similar experience to previous review. Chose Rooter Plus because of low quoted price of $150 and 4.5 Google reviews. Nic, the tech, showed up on time. Had some trouble finding the tank, maybe an extra 20 minutes or so. Told me the $150 was for tanks to 18" deep and mine was 2-3 ft. Stated a $138 up charge but figured I was ok, now at $288 which is still below the national average of about $400. Got the tank open and as above did the stick the shovel in the sludge trick. Where I and all the other uniformed consumers think that sludge is solid like that to the bottom of the tank and it will have to be dug out by hand. So after assessing the state of the tank they suggested I replace the tank drain to the field to the tune of $3700. Now note I stated up front I was having no issues with the system, it was just that we had been there 6 years and did not know if the previous owner had the tank pumped. So thanks but no thanks just need the tank pumped, how much for that? $825, WHAT??? Say again! Yup, $825. So when asked as to why the price was now double the average the only reason he could give me was:
1. He had to use the mini-excavator to break up the top layer of sludge
2. I could not tell him if the tank had ever been pumped.
Well it took him 2-3 minutes to " break up" the top layer of sludge with the mini-excavator.
I looked up the average time it takes to pump a tank and they were there about that amount of time.
BOTTOM LINE....CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH....BUYER BEWARE. -

Please read the reviews and learn from the mistakes others have made. The office stated the service was $150 with a possible $100 upcharge for 500 additional gallons of waste.
$250 is a reasonable price for 1500 gallons of removal. I was explicit with the office that no drain field work would be purchased as the field was saturated with rain water and I only needed the tank drained to buy time for the field to dry out. I asked the office to put in the notes to the tech not to quote drain field work because it is not needed and only to drain the tank.
The time was set for 8A - 12N so plans had to be changed but getting the septic taken care of was more important. At 10AM no one had showed and there was no call to let me know progress so I called the office to be told the tech would be there well before 12N.
At 12:30PM when no one showed up I called again to be told the tech was delayed but would be there soon. With no one at the house at hour later at 1:30PM, I expected no one to show but got communication at 1:45 that the tech would be another 45 minutes. That was the first update that I did not initiate.
By 3:00PM the tank was open with the classic stand up of the shovel in the waste sales picture. The price went from $250 to $16K in 10 minutes.
Understanding the forced upsell, we said no, again, to replacing the drain field.
We watched the work completed which included the dig to the tank, hose to suck out the debris with no 'manual break up of excessive solids' and debatable hydro jetting of the mainline. The tech said 'this (pointing at the tank and the debris) is nothing compared to what we normally see...we will be done quick' Quick came sooner than expected as it started to rain and the tech pulled hoses leaving some debris in the tank, closed the lid, covered the tank with dirt and left.
I called the office to discuss the bill that grew from a possible $250 to just under $1K but the manager was not available to approve the reduction of the bill for the work not completed. None of the pictures provided have a date stamp so there is no means for me to even know based on the close up of the tank, if these pictures were from my home. When I asked for pictures of the completed work there were none provided.
When I asked for truck tank readings to validate the extra waste charge, none were provided.
Rooterplus is well versed in the upsell and taking advantage of homeowners in a pinch. Beware and try other companies that do not have the reputation and tradition of robbing homeowners.

Would like to forewarn anyone thinking about using this company, review is accurate and I am a previous customer. I live at Cedar Chase Townhomes in Atlanta GA, 30324. In 2021 our HOA hired Rooter Plus to re plumb water main lines and unit feed lines in our 48 unit community. Rooter Plus took several weeks longer than they estimated and in 2022 had to redo all the water main lines due to repeated leaking. At 1:30 AM on Oct 26th the direct feed line Rooter Plus installed to my townhouse blew off the water mainline they installed in front of my townhouse discharging a firehose strength geyser of water with granite aggregate directly at the front of my home shattering 4 windows and skylight. My house was flooded with 3-4" of water, furniture, artwork, ceilings and walls destroyed. The only thing worse than Rooter Plus's poor project management pathetic workmanship is their complete and utter lack of customer care, concern or compassion. Rooter Plus deferred the matter to their insurance company. Rooter Plus's owner Charlie Plumley didn't take the time or make the effort to respond to my voice message and their Ms. Susan Rutherford was obtuse, uncaring and rude the one time I phoned her on the matter. Rooter Plus and their insurance provider refused to pay my hotel costs while damage to my home they caused were being completed and left me with over $10k in unreimbursed repair costs. This is all factual and I have email, video and photo to support this review. DO NOT USE ROOTER PLUS THEY ARE AWFUL!
