Another AHS story similar to add to so many here. My AC stopped working after 14 years. It is on a pad in the garden and not elevated high enough as it should have been to not have corrasion at the base. But it always worked well and was installed by a licensed contractor. AHS stats that AC units last 10-15 years and Google says 12-15 years so my unit has stopped after giving many years of service.
The tech arrived and saw the corrosion at the base of the unit and said AHS would not cover this issue. I explained that it was obviously installed on a low pad and that my contract read that coverage is not negated due to improper installation or corrasion issues. I had a copy in my hand.
He told me, a 76-year-old person, that his 4-year-old would no better than to think this was not due to neglect on my part. And as he walked away, with his back to me, he muttered "if you want to give me $ 5500, I will install a new unit." I am self-confident but not sure why his remarks and attitude took me some time to shake off. So, if you have AHS sending this company to your house prepare yourself for an adventure or request AHS for another company based on so many 1-star reviews on Buildzoom and even the Yelp web site.

{UPDATE}: LITERALLY just minutes after I posted this review, guess who decided to call me? Yep! The "owner" he called himself Jeff this time. He actually did provide a reason as to why their service is so trash. He stated "when it's through American Homeshield, we just take our time with those and get to em whenever". He legit said that on the phone. Apparently they look down on folks actually using their home warranty as it was intended. He went on to say he doesn't give a shyt about bad reviews because "we still makin money anyway!" He claims the bad reviews actually result in MORE business for him, which is strange logic. He very clearly was upset by the review because he kept bringing it up. He ended by calling me a cheap ass. I guess that's because I originally contracted through my (former) home warranty plan rather than contracting them directly. But that what home warranty is for right? What he doesn't know is that I actually did contract this AC repair directly....through a much more professional, thorough, and highly rated company (Friars HVAC. Use this company instead. Pretty much the opposite of these RR HVAC clowns).
---------------------------------------------
{ORIGINAL REVIEW}.
'll cut right to the chase. This is the most unprofessional, unprepared, least communicative commercial company that I've ever had to suffer. I'm not even sure how they have a license to work. This fraud of a company was contracted through my home warranty program American Home Shield. The service I "received" was so horrendous that I also canceled the home warranty company. The fact that they would recommend a company like this to their customers means that I can't do business with them either.First, If you ever call to get any update to your job? The "owner" Ricardo, will pretend as if he can't hear you and hang up the phone on you. And it's the worst acting job you've ever heard "hello, huh, *crumples paper* hello?" and then he hangs up. My third grader could do a better job of faking a call like that.
Next, these people don't even tell you when they're coming. They don't provide a window of time to expect em. They don't send a text or call you. They just show up. And if you have follow up appointments, they just schedule em and don't tell you...and then they just show up. If you weren't home? Welp, you weren't home and the delay goes on and on. Oh, and they'll blame you for not being home, even though you never had an idea they were coming.
Let's see what else...My AC unit being down (during that heat wave a couple months ago) meant multiple appointments from them. Each one with the hope that THIS will be the one where they actually repair the unit. Except each new person they sent had no idea what he needed to do. No notes from previous appointments. Means he didn't know what tools or parts to bring. We just happened to be home that time (the 6th visit) and he again, couldn't do anything to repair my AC and at this point, it's 89 degrees in my house and 104 outside. He just kinda nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders and left.
Finally, I got a random text from Debra at like 1am telling me they "ordered the part". I got that text on 16 September. I opened this work order on 11 August. Ridiculous.
When I called to ask for an update after that one, I again got the same "hello? huh" i can't hear you" song and dance from the owner.
I'll say it again, the customer service, lack of knowledge (even of themselves), lack of communication and lack of preparedness is as bad as it gets. I can't even fathom a worse company to try and hire. These people don't even deserve the 1 star that I had to click on this app. A more accurate assessment would have been -1 star. They've got miles to go as a company before they can even warrant a ZERO star rating. Any positive review of this company is clearly someone who works there and should be considered just as fraudulent as the company itself. If you are a homeowner, save yourself the frustration and rage. If your crappy home warranty program tries to task THESE jerks with repairing your anything? MAKE THEM FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. DO NOT GET OFF THE PHONE WITH THEM UNTIL THEY DO.

Is it possible to leave no stars? I was Assigned this company through AHS. The tech came for a leak issue. He removed the pump meant to push water. Created a “newly improved” flow for any water buildup and the leak is now worst than when the tech came. Is this even a legitimate company?

By Heather S.November 16, 2021They were dispatched via my home warranty company to diagnose a/c problem.
Initially our experience started out positively. We filed a claim via our home warranty company, and RR was the assigned service provider. The technician arrived in a timely fashion and quickly diagnosed a failed compressor. He told us that he would file the appropriate report with the warranty company and that we would have a new compressor within five days. Over a week went by and my attempts to follow up were ignored. I finally called our warranty company and they said the RR technician had classified this mechanical failure as an ACT OF GOD, therefore it wouldn't be covered. Over the next week I made multiple attempts to contact RR, as this claim sounded outrageous. It took six days for someone to call me back, and when she did she was full of excuses for her poor response time. She said that although the technician hadn't technically said act of god, that he had claimed a power surge caused the problem and that a power surge was an act of god. I asked her to please explain how he came to that conclusion and she refused. I asked to speak to the technician and she refused to have him call me. She then she stated that they actually WORKED FOR MY HOME WARRANTY COMPANY!!!! This explains A LOT! My expectation is that they would be a neutral third party, not in the pocket of the warranty company. Epic fail. Grossly unprofessional and unethical.

Where to start. They were responsive at first, the process then extended over 3+ weeks, then they stopped returning my calls. Not to mention the manager, Mike is only trying to rake you over the coals and not do what is best for the customer.
Debra is amazing. I believe she has the best intentions for the customer. They were assigned to my AC repair through AHS warranty and she was very empathetic and wanted to help. She assigned Dave to come out to our residence to address the issue.
We bought out house 1.5 years ago and have refilled the coolant at the condenser 3x prior to RR coming out. After telling Dave the story and providing context, he saw that there was a massive coolant leak at the condenser. Dave gave me two options, we could do a leak seal and then recharge the coolant or we would need to replace the condenser. Since my condenser was over 10 years old it needed the old coolant that extremely expensive and being phased out. Cost would be around $1200-$1500 all out of my pocket as AHS would cover about $70. Also, he couldnt confirm if the leak seal would work or last.
The other option is replace the condenser, AHS would pay for the unit and I would be on the hook for labor. Approx $2500. I said. Lets replace it as I would rather have an actual solution to the problem. Dave said ok, and that was his recommendation and they will advise AHS.
Little did I know, the whole time I was talking to Dave, the foundation of the conversation was built on rhetoric and I didnt have an actual choice at all.
After back and forth on calls with Dave, then Debra and AHS. This was approx. 20-25 phone calls minimum. I finally was able to talk to the breath of fresh air that I mention above. Mike.
Mike, said, I'm the manager, it doesnt matter what Dave recommends, I saw the pictures and you will need to go forward with a leak seal or his suggestion was that I buy a whole new unit from them because AHS would never approve. He proceeded to quote me $7500, I of course questioned that price. He then said, hold on. He put me on hold for maybe a minute, got back on the call and said, He has one unit left, they are hard to get, he would charge me now $5500 all said and done, but I needed to make the decision today. That may be the oldest sales tactic in the book and work with complete idiots, but to his dismay. Im not one of his gullible idiots.
Ending this monologue because guy and company in abhorrent. I decided to request a second opinion.
Its a miracle. I got an honest contractor assigned. He actually recommended the unit be replaced to AHS. They approved. I paid him $1300 in labor, and it was all completed in 2.5 weeks.
I would avoid this company at all cost. Cheers!

By Michelle S.June 14, 2020Diagnosis/fix A/C unit$100
AHS sent out this company to help fix our A/C. We were told the condenser was going out and they needed to replace the entire unit. The tech spent a very long time at our home, very detail oriented and took many notes and pictures. He did a quick fix until they would get the new unit. I called AHS the next day to find out his boss, Ray, never sent ANY notes or recommendations to AHS for our A/C unit. That day the compressor stopped working again. Another tech from the same company came out and said everything works fine, although the house wasn’t cooling down at all after running the A/C for an hour! He left saying all is well. Ray, the rude owner, called (still not sending anything to AHS and bashing AHS) and told me to find another company to fix my problem and hung up on me after talking to me like a child! This is the worst company ever and I never would recommend them to even my worst enemy!

By Andy R.May 1, 2020Fix the fuse tripping from the AC or Furnace.$70
The technician came to our house 20 minutes late in a 2-hour appointment window. Therefore we were not able to see him work on the items because we had other plans. The problem was with the fuse that keeps tripping and he only looked at the AC unit even do the furnace and the AC unit are both connected to the same fuse. We paid another 70 dollars to have an electrician come out, per the AC technicians notes, to look at the wiring. The electrician came out, tested both units and the wiring and noted that the furnace is the one causing the fuse to trip not the AC (great job to that company for fully inspecting the issue). We called AHS again, and they are forcing us to pay another 70 dollars because of their RR HVAC INC. tech didn't even inspect all the possibilities as to why the fuse is tripping. This is unsatisfactory and very unprofessional of both AHS and RR HVAC INC. Furthermore, they just called me and told me that they were not going to come back out after I already paid the 70 dollars. The individual that called was incredibly rude and unprofessional.

Another AHS contractor issue send out the bottom feeders to fix AC issues. This technician was an ANGRY BIRD!
Arrived parked on freshly sealed driveway. Asked him to move his truck off driveway, he responded “WHY”. Are you kidding me asking why he has to move his truck off my driveway. I responded do you have an issue with my request?
He started yelling at me that I DISRESPECTED him. He got in his truck, rolled down his window yelling find someone else you DISRESPECTED ME.
What is this disrespect thing…..this isn’t a third world country.
Loose Cannon stay far away from this company……AHS contracts with bottom feeders.
