Had a family member who wanted to purchase R S Parker home in North Village. He wanted exactly what the model had. He asked for ball park price and was told it was impossible to do that. After weeks of back and forth of trying to get an idea of how much the house he wanted was the rep finally (after getting other reps in R S Parker involved) gave price and he sent earnest money. STRIKE 1. Proof of funds was sent, the rep was incompetent to even call correct people at bank to verify. Replied with threat of cancelling due to non verification of funds. His realtor made a 3 minute call to bank and had them call rep to verify. Strike 2. The design stage was next, the rep was very nice in that aspect, we explained the issues we had encountered up to this point and she assured us all would go smooth from here. Did design, got total. My father wanted to stop by model one last time before signing to confirm the stairs and railings were same on contract before signing. We left design and went directly to model. Confirmed they were the same and signed contract gave rest of deposit. Days later R S Parker calls and says top of stairs (railing) not included in price. (Was on contract with wrong price) so for 310 they wouldn't correct their mistake and eat that cost. STRIKE 3. Our realtor contacted higher ups and explained the situation. I even sent them a message explaining exactly what you have read and asked them to do the right thing and satisfy a customer. No response. A week later we got a response NO pay the 310. Realtor again explained the issues my father had already dealt with and asked one last time for them to reconsider. Finally they agreed. The rep once again was after my father for proof if funds due to 3000 difference, way before we heard the railing would be included no charge. My father was out of town for a week and upon return was sent a release form stating he didn't sign new contact, no new proof of funds and no contact calls. We contacted R S Parker and stated he wanted the house and was ready to do all new paperwork AGAIN. Remember R S Parker screwed up here. They actually responded saying they choose not to do business with my father and refuse to sell him the house. Meanwhile they list a house 20K more on the lot he has hold on.... They responded with they felt the customer was not happy with process and felt he would give company bad reputation if they sold him a house basically. They even has the nerve to say a family member sent them a negative message! The release letter was cold and accusing him of not providing second signed contract that was never mailed to him and no proof of funds. He had been waiting to hear if railing was covered. If satisfaction was their true concern here why wouldn't the letter sent contain those words? What kind of company messes up is made aware of it and instead of actually trying to make them happy just cancels a sale? R S Parker was worried about a bad review and in turn has created one. The principal here is simple. Purchasing a R S Parker home is NOT user friendly and I will never send another person to them. In fact I will personally make it a mission to get this story of discrimination out!
