Buyer beware! After completing our house the Contractor sent sub-contractor out to our residence and ruined the brick. Neither RSI or the sub-contractor had insurance to cover the damages! Our backyard floods due to improper grading from another Sub-contractor. We never received the 1 year inspection from the contractor cause he cannot provide us with proof of current insurance. Throughout the entire build Rob Steele rarely inspected any of the work being completed. He guaranteed he would complete a list of issues within 30 days after we sign for our home. We have been fighting with him since trying to get the work completed. He can’t get his own sub-contractors to come back and if he does they’re just make this issues worse. You would be better off hiring your our sub-contractors yourself then pay him. This is an issue with all his builds. I wish I would have read these reviews before we started. They are spot on.

Almost had to go to court to force him to build things he put into the contract. He uses used items in the homes he builds and makes changes to the build without discussing it. When questioned, he called me profanities over the phone. Avoid this builder at all costs.

Bought a new home from him. He never fixed anything he said he would. Rob even installed a used, stained tub in one bathroom. He never replaced it. He never fixed unlevel floors or the 300+ nail pops. He even installed a bathroom vent on our dryer vent which it clearly states not to do. It caused terrible leaking and repair on our dime. This has been the worst experience of my life. The quality is terrible and so is his work ethic.

I highly recommend RSI inc. Rob Steele. My experience has been great. He built my family a beautiful house with a sturdy foundation at a great price. I can't think of one real problem or negative experience I had. IMO he's honest, easy to work with, kind, very knowledgable, reliable and ALWAYS looked out for my better interest as the invested home builder, that is hard to come by in this town. With that being said, it made him trustworthy. During my build I discovered he built other friends custom homes, (higher nice end homes) they had all good things to say and were very pleased with their home, this to me is very important ;)
People I've done busines with such as my banker says great things about him, recommended him and said he was trustworthy, (which in my experience was true)
The quality of my home is good and we really feel as though we got a fair deal for our price. So far no issues. I've heard horror stories about some builders who come into town to make a quick buck, (using crappy materials and labor) I myself got taken by an unhonest builder prior to meeting Rob. Rob is a local with a military background so he has knowledge of both sides here in Jacksonville.
I also wanted to mention he came highly recommended by my husbands friends at work (which my husbands been in the Marine Corps going on 30 years now) and highly recommended by some of my friends and associates.
I hope this helps anyone buying or building their home as I know it can be a very confusing process. So glad RSI built our home and we chose this company. Our experience has been WONDERFUL! And I LOVE my house ;) -

Hands down the worst builder to deal with. He not only doesn't hold up to what is promised but also avoids contact as well as voids out the 1year builder warranty whenever issues are brought up. We are not the only ones that have had this problem in the subdivision. If any one deals with this builder I would highly suggest that you get a full inspection from someone else and do not close until everything is taken care of. Please pass the word about this builder, I will warn everyone I see.

Worst builder on the Coast, several company name changes to cover up his shoddy work. " Building new homes in the area" Buyer beware, he carries
NO INSURANCE, doesn't pay his subs and then if your home is like mine ,
you will be facing thousands of dollars in repairs. Vents improperly installed, Hvac system not completed, ( why would you connect the duct work to the vents??)
They were laid in the attic , ends open.
I would run from this man . Getting it in writing does nothing for you, he ignores your questions, becomes abusive if you ask , and then refuses to show up or answer any calls. And when you call him out, the retaliation begins.
