    We hired Rubin Homes Inc (Rubin Custom Homes/RCH) in December 2019 to build our new home. The experience has been awful. We have gone through an avalanche of problems during construction due to poor supervision and experience and are still handling a major issue related to an exterior balcony. We had to deal with a significant leak from this balcony during the entire construction, which persisted after we obtained the certificate of occupancy in May 2022 and moved in. Instead of sending a specialized subcontractor to handle the problem, RCH had their handyman apply waterproofing chemicals and tile the space. Water kept accumulating close to the house structural walls, leading to the tiles to start popping out and additional leaking. The most recent leak notification to RCH was issued on August 27th of 2023. They once again sent a handyman to deal with the problem. Everything was ripped off and more waterproofing performed. The problem now is that RCH never came back to finish the job. Another three months passed. We have a balcony completely exposed to the environment and without a rail. We have attempted multiple contacts without much progress. This company answers emails and phone as they wish. When we finally get a reply, the update is the same: nothing. This is a total disregard for the customer. They do not care for customers, the impact on the house structure or even safety, considering that we have a child in the house. Their director of operations never came to the house to confirm proper completion of anything. Their general contractor is a facade. He never came to the site to make sure things were being done correctly either, despite our requests. We have gone through 4 different site managers, who have been blamed for all the problems with our project. However, it is very clear that the problem is with the leadership. If they really wanted to do the right thing they would have done already.

    I have used Steve Rubin and his company for a number of home remodeling and improvement projects over the past ten years. The reason is that they are very professional in their work and wonderful to work with. The most recent job was a total remodel of our kitchen and we are very pleased with the result. Steve and his team worked with us in the planning process and lined up the best sub contractors to get the job done on time and within budget. A Rubin supervisor was always on the job and very accommodating when changes were requested and in expediting the project plan. The finished product is a WOW! I have always felt that Rubin had my satisfaction as a primary objective. Jim Pierson

    It was a very stressfull decision in hiring a builder. We interviewed three builders. Rubin Custom Homes was our decision. From the very beginning of our project we knew we hired the right builder. We started out with 2700 sq ft and ended up with 5800 sq ft, Steve Rubin was always overseeing the project along with his full time supervisor. The cost of the project was a little over $2,000,000. The finished product was a masterpiece that my wife and I are extremely proud of, We highly recommend Rubin Custom Homes and his team.

    We had a great experience with Steve and his crew. Always someone at the office. Not only did Steve himself oversee our job but he had a good supervisor overseeing everything also. Thank you Rubin Custom Homes for making our addition easy and in budget.

    Steven Rubin built our home on time and on budget. I would highly recommend his company. His staff is very professional and always willing to help. There are a lot of questions and budget issues when building a 9000 sq ft home and Rubin Custom Homes puts you at rest.
