Rusty White Home Repairs is a BIG SCAM ARTIST. He scammed me for $500. On Sept. 19 he showed up to paint and caulk windows, repair fascia on roof, paint the back deck and repair roof. He only did a little painting that day. Came back Sept 26 to tell me he found more problems with roof ...he needed another $400 for that. The checks were made out to a third party by the name of STEPHANY MILLER. I should have known they were shady. I am going to Magistate Court. STAY AWAY FROM HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE. WISH I HAD CHECKED HIM OUT PRIOR TO THIS!

Absolutely avoid Rusty White. He took more than half th money for my repairs and only completed 1/8 of the work before he quit responding to texts and phone calls.

I hired Rusty and another gentleman via drive by offer to paint shutters and trim of house and wash the entire house. Much like the reviews above, he still has not completed the work promised even with two receipts of paid in full. He was rained out the final day and we paid him in good faith after he stated he would be back on the weekend to complete the work. Since we were not going to be home, we paid him. I have not heard from him since even after several calls and text messages.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HANDYMAN HE IS A SCAMMER. Rusty White drove in from West Virginia with another gentleman for basic deck repairs. Asked for half the money upfront and stated he's going to procure the supplies while he took the check away written for Heather Golliday-presumably his partner's bank account. Rusty disappeared and fails to answer any calls without having his promised work done. I've looked him up and also saw consumers with the same experiences, as well as no registration in West Virginia's contractor database.

I experienced the same thing. I paid him to power wash my house and deck. I paid him before he was done and he left without washing the deck.

Don't hire him! He washed my house and did an excellent job, was to paint trim around front door and garage. Told me he would be back to apply another coat, never came back. Also, he was going to paint my shutters when he came back, in exchange for an old ladder I had. He took the ladder but didn't come back to paint (dumb me).

***BEWARE***** RUSTY WHITE ******I hired a drive through that saw the fachia was missing on my house. He gave me a price to put it back and I agreed to it. In our conversation he said he could wash my house down, paint my shutters and fix the paint on my front steps for a price. I agreed to everything. I then came in and checked him out on the internet and he had horrible reviews. They say he gets his money and then doesn't finish the job. Because the sidewalk and steps were wet he couldn't paint them yesterday and said he would be back this morning a 9. He wanted his money and because everything he did was OK I said I would pay him all except for $50. He was here at 9 am and painted the steps. I watched him and he wasn't using much paint at all so I knew I would have lots left over. I kept going out and keeping an eye on his work. When he finished he came to my door and had an empty bucket that had green paint all over the top and maybe 1/2 cup of paint in the bucket. (the step paint was gray) He also had the paper that covered the bucket I had purchased torn off and said that was all the paint they had left over. I said "Oh, no!!!! I want to see my bucket you tore the paper off of. I watched you guys paint and there should be at least 1/2 bucket of paint left over". He went to his truck arguing with me that that was all the paint left. He kept looking in the back of his truck and said "sweetie, I'm sorry but this is it". I said "your lying and until you come up with my paint I'm not paying you the $50 for stealing my paint". I walked through my garage, put the door down, came in and locked my house up and called my son-in-law to come over. Rusty came to my back door and said, "we just found your paint . . it was by your outdoor spigot". I said "Oh no it wasn't. You tore the label off and had it in your truck." I grabbed the bucket of paint and closed the door and when I opened the paint up it was 3/4 full!!!!! The paint cost me $50. He will definitely try to take something from you.

Same problem here, Mr. White signed paperwork to finish a screened in porch roof for me. Took a check for $225.00 up front as half of the total quote he gave me. Was to show up 2 days later to do the work. Didn't show. Called him, said he was in the ER all night but would be out later that day. He never showed up. Called him back several times and got his answering machine. He never returned my calls. This guy is a scam. I'm going to the Berkeley County Sheriff's office to see if I can file criminal charges against him.

Now goes by Freedom Home Repairs on old license WV059466 that is not current. He took close to two thousand dollars in checks to a Penny Costello and a Stephanie Miller. He asked for cash initially. He, his wife and uncle showed up two times and completed nothing. Be sure to check licenses and reviews before hiring anyone. Shame on Rusty White but shame on us too for trusting without doing any background checks!
