He came out to our home look at the project that we wanted done. He has not returned to give a bid and I have not heard anything from him. The last contact I had with Harold White was Aug. 7, 2016 at 11:21 a.m. and this was a text message.

Permits
- Building permit records show that Rutherford Contractors Group DBA Faith Construction Group, LLC has worked on 9 permitted projects.
The contractor came to my house, reviewed the work, and then squeezed me into a situation where he manipulated me to give him 50% down on the project at the same time he handing me his estimate (as I was getting ready to head out of town for a funeral). Initially, he reviewed the work with me and gave a good analysis of the work to the done and and methods that would taken to get the house up to shape. He promised the work would be done and I trusted what he said.
After I returned and reviewed the work performed by the company's workmen, I took photos and sent them to the owner indicating the areas that were faulty (windows framed wrongly - wrong size and levels, use of inappropriate materials to solve a water issue, and the waste materials were left scattered all over my house - open paint can, and poor quality of basic painting). He visited and agreed that the work should be redone, clean up of the waste etc. and was given additional time to get it done. They cleaned some of the work areas, but didn't complete the job painting or framing and the water issue wasn't solved. Then, the excuses and exclusions to the agreed scope began. Actually, ALL the list of things that they began on the scope were incomplete or done poorly . I ended up pointing out several flaws in the work which he agreed should be redone. He was given two additional weeks to get the work done and it still wasn't completed! I caught him lying about the painter being at the house to work on the house, because I was there and no one called or showed up. As the company representative, he began to make excuses and subtract portions of the work stating that they were not supposed to do this or that. I cancelled the work with him and requested a return of my deposit. He refuses to return my money. Since then, I have had to to pay other contractors to do the work which Rutherford had been paid for. The other contractors have stepped up and done the work without too much owners supervision and MUCH better quality work.
Based on the fact that there were SO many slips in the quality, timliness issues, and incompleteness of the work and verbal inaccuracies/lying, I further communicated that they were not going to get multiple chances to get the work done. My project is not a priority, but my money is! After cancellation of the work with Rutherford, the representative took a week and a half to respond and made the excuse that they were coming to complete the painting that they had more than a month to do but they haven't given me my money back. They charge a premium for the work, but they work is very substandard. How many times do you have to spend getting painting or basic framing right? Personally, I believe there is no supervisory oversight and they do no visit the job site but sends the workers to do what they want.
An investigation of the company reveals that their contractor license is expired. This company cannot be trusted to do good work, and more importantly, keep their word. DO NOT TRUST THEM! Do NOT give them your money. Do NOT SIGN any agreement with them! NOTE: It's illegal in the state of TN to demand a 50% deposit. They do not mind flouting the law. Buyer BEWARE!
