Combined with his widespread background, education, and training, Phillip also has extensive knowledge in energy efficiency as it affects the house as an entire system. He has years of experience teaching people all across the country about geothermal heat pumps, cellulose insulation, foam insulation, and all global aspects of energy efficiency.

Phillip obtained a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and is a licensed civil engineer who also holds an LSIT (Land Surveyor In Training) certificate. He has 12 years of experience working as an engineer at the Arkansas Highway Department in the Roadway Design and Land Surveys Divisions. His experience in engineering design and surveying have proven to be invaluable in helping clients in home design and layout. No other builder in Central Arkansas has the in-house expertise to walk clients through the design process and import surveys and contours showing exactly how the house will fit on their lot and show the terrain to match. This is a very important process in determining house location and pricing and is often overlooked or skipped.

    Build a home

    Where to begin? Metal roof leaked within the first year. We had to have a different contractor correct the issue at our cost. Thresholds were not supported. Phillip Rye did install supports himself with untreated 2x4’s. The contract called for maple cabinets. They installed MDF. He was going to charge extra to have the company to rebuild them. By this time we were bleeding money. So many hidden charges! Hot water was run to outside faucet. I had to bring it to his attention. We had to hire someone to install a ceiling in an adjoining utility closet which would have given access to the interior of the house if ever broken into. Some of the exterior doors do not lock properly. His answer was they either shut correctly or lock correctly, not both. Interior door was hung with a huge hole in it. It was replaced but not without a fight. Rust marks and pencil marks are all over my concrete floor. His comment was “you’ll get used to it”. I could go on and on. Please look carefully at hiring other builders before choosing this guy. No way would I allow or recommend him or his sub contractors to build a tiny dog house.
    He is very unprofessional. He can talk the talk but can’t keep his promises.
