I've used S&J a few times. The last time when the pipes under my kitchen sink blew out. I was able to schedule with S&J quickly and they were out when they said they'd be there. The young man who helped me (i think his name was Mark) wore a mask, was courteous, informative etc. They look over what's wrong, give you an estimate/quote and then move forward if you agree to the price. He was able to replace not just the rusted out pipes but also the faucet which was probably 30 years old and leaking. It wasn't inexpensive (about 1100).
I've used fix-it guys before to save a few dollars and always ended up paying for it in the end. S&J guys are licensed and insured.....fix-it guys aren't. Also good to know is if you have repairs done by someone who isn't licensed and their shoddy work causes issues where your home-owners insurance would normally kick in.....insurance is less likely to pay for damage caused by someone who wasn't licensed.
