Back in 2006 after Hurricane Wilma destroyed my roof and there was a shortage of roof tiles in Coral Springs, Fl. due to the demand I was forced to look into metal roofs. I researched and did my homework in order to make a educated choice in roofers. I googled metal roof experts, materials and manufacturers to learn all I could about it since I wasn't familiar with this type of roof. I contacted Gerrard Roofing Co. since they are the manufacturers of metal roofing materials to see if they could recommend a local installer to do the job. I figured who could be better to recommend then the actual manufacturer of the product? Plus there were a lot of scams and fly by night unlicensed roofers taking advantage of the Wilma situation. The manufacturer highly recommended S and W Roofing of WPB so I checked him out and didn't see any red flags and hired them. Well the very first day on the job the workers made a large hole/crater in my asphalt driveway by dragging the dumpster away. Then upon completion of the job I had subsequent roof leaks where he had to come back and do repairs and repaint the ceilings. After spending $30,000.00 on a new roof the last thing Id expect are more roof leaks. Now I understand that S and W roofing left the state of Fl. therefore voiding my fifty year warranty of the roof. So in essence if I incur any future problems with the roof Id have to find another roofing co. and pay out of pocket for all and any repairs since my original warranty is not valid anymore. To say that this was a horrible experience is an understatement. I don't know what more I could have done to avoid this? I inquired, researched, went straight to manufacturers for recommendations etc etc and I still got screwed. Terrible terrible way to treat hardworking paying customers. Run don't walk away from Wayne John Romanski and his company S and W Roofing.
