My husband and I are 20 months in on a project with Safari Landscaping. Joseph is the 'contractor' that first came to our house for a quote. Mind you later we find out he is NOT a licensed contractor but works under this "Effrim" who holds the license yet you'll never meet him or talk to him. Not even sure that's legal. Joseph and Jose are exactly what you'd hope for initially meeting with them. Charismatic, social, made computer imaging with a video to show us how our yard would look for free, etc. Totally lure you in with their presentation. Yet here we are almost 2 years later and it's not finished. Joseph will blame every single person in the world before he takes responsibility for poor management, being unknowledgeable while swearing he knows what he's talking about, and miscommunication. We gave Safari over 300k in business including a retaining wall that was supposed to be done. After 7/8 month delays bc of his 'subcontractor's delays' we found out it would be about another 30-50k over what we signed on contract. So of course we couldn't afford that and had to change direction of repairing the wall after 10k in wasted money for deposits and soil sampling bc of his lack of knowledge. So here we are in the hole and still spending 280k with the company bc we were swindled into giving them more money upfront than we should have. We definitely regret paying them so much money upfront which come to find out is ILLEGAL. Joseph threatened us every few months for more 'deposits' saying he would stop our project if we didn't pay him more. We are 99% sure our money was funding other projects hence why our project has been delayed and why you've seen some good yelp reviews. It's bc they took our money to finish those! So he made us afraid if we didn't pay the project would stop. Joseph has given us 4 deadlines and missed all of them! I'm 99% sure our money has been spent and they can't fund our project to finish. We had to cancel our wedding bc of his broken promises and lies as he promised to have our yard done so we can have our wedding. Now we have a baby and our yard is completely unsafe for her or any family to use and come over. They will not give us a new date but it doesn't even matter bc all they do is lie. I have saved every conversation and progress pictures this whole time. Our project isn't even done but I feel like I need to let people know what's really going on about this company before you sign a contract with them and start giving them money. I don't know how they've had any good reviews as this has been one of the worst experiences of my life. If any one has questions I would have to respond in direct contact. We have graphs with deposits and payment plans proving everything. We have contacted legal representation so I highly suggest you skip this company for now.
