I want to start by saying, I would like 0 stars if I were able to. We had the unfortunate event of being required to use Salyer's because of our home warranty. Salyer's installed our new air conditioner because ours was very old and we needed a new one. Once the air conditioner was installed, we had a myriad of issues. First, they had to come back out because our unit would not turn on. Turns out a wire got disconnected. Then our brand new unit was not cooling. We looked at Yelp reviews about Salyer's and took their warnings seriously. It was stated that Salyer's likes to purposefully not install your AC unit correctly so they have to come out multiple times. We requested a new company to come look at our unit. We had to push hard because all other companies were overbooked. After we got assigned a new company, they came out and found that Salyer's had installed a jump wire between our heating and AC unit within the thermostat. This caused our heating and air to turn on simultaneously and it was causing our house to not cool completely. The new company stated that this was done on purpose for more maintenance calls and that there is not reason for that type of jump wire to be installed. Salyer's is fraudulently fixing AC units so they are able to come back out and reap the benefits from the home warranty companies. Make sure you request a different company if they get assigned to you. They could have caused lots of damage to our unit and our home. I will be taking this complaint to other places to ensure that others do not have this experience.

PS: it is now December and the upstairs heater is NOT WORKING. It is 42 degrees outside, raining and supposed to rain for the entire next week. Christmas is only four days away. Can you even imagine that the heater will be fixed before New Years?

By Helga S.December 22, 2021Fix upstairs heater and fan/heater unit in the ceiling in upstairs bathroom.
Very unprofessional. Fixed one of two heaters. Employee said that upstairs heater wasn’t lite so he lite it. Then he look at the ceiling fan/heater in the upstairs bathroom and said it was dirty. I wasn’t surprised because the unit is after all 33 years old and making some very strange noises. I’m 80 years old and can’t clean it myself. Since I had to pay $75.00 fee for each heater Thru American Home Shield I asked if he could clean the unit and he said “we don’t do that”.

They don't deserve one star but, This is probably the worst company I've ever had to deal with. Ever. Horribly rude and horribly unprofessional. Our unit looks like it came from a scrap junkyard. They have been rude to me and hung up on me and it's been over a year of dealing with them because of our home warranty and the unit is still not fixed. In fact they came to do their final inspection and found out it's been leaking heavily for the past year because of their mistake and also now our heater doesn't work. So they have to come out yet again today. I wish I could afford to hire a professional instead.

I would give them ZERO STARS if I could. This company is a TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!! In September or October of 2018, my ac went out. I contacted my home warranty and they contracted for Salyer's Heat & Air Conditioning to come out. Below is a timeline of my dealings with Salyers since October, 2018.
October, 2018: Salyers brings out a unit that is the wrong size.
November, 2018: Salyers comes back and installs a different unit (correct size but different than the original unit that was agreed upon0. Salyers is supposed to coordinate someone to do duct testing before I call for inspection.
December, 2018 - April, 2019: I did not hear from the person who was supposed to come and due the duct testing prior to inspection so I kept reaching out to Salyers.
April, 2019: FIVE MONTHS LATER, the duct testing guy finally comes. He says the duct work is leaking and the boots need to be sealed. After several rounds with Salyers, they finally agree to do the register sealing.
July, 2019: the unit does not pass inspection for 2 reasons - exposed steel gas pipes needed to be painted and a 30" x 30" platform which was REQUIRED BY CODE was not installed.
July 30, 2019: Salyers comes out and addresses the first issue brought up by the inspector but they do not address the biggest issue, the platform which is a CODE REQUIREMENT!!! They claimed they didn't know anything about the platform, did not know that was required, it was not covered, etc. Total crap!!!
September, 2019: I have the platform built so the unit can pass inspection.
November, 2019: Brower Mechanical informs me that the unit (that is ONE YEAR OLD) has massive amounts of duct leakage between the unit and the curb. There is a big hole that should have been sealed on the supply plenum to the curb. This is not in compliance with Title 24 and there is no way that the HERS rating is less than 12% as required.
December, 2019: Salyers came back out to address the issue outlined above but left no paperwork clarifying what they did.
August, 2019: The ac unit (that is less than TWO YEARS OLD!!!) stops working. Salyers tells me it's not their problem and I should contact the home warranty company.

We’ve been dealing with them for over 6 weeks to fix our AC and they told me that I shouldn’t be too upset because some people have been waiting since April for Salyer to fix their AC. Unfortunately we have to keep using them due to our home warranty, but we’ve had to reopen the claim three times because they will fix it for a couple hours to a couple days. Their customer service is the worst, scheduling appointments is a nightmare. Any time we called to make an appointment they would say they were booked for the week and refused to schedule us for the next week. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company!

The worker who came to our house was very unprofessional and lacked communication skills. He came over, I told him my AC was making a screeching noise yesterday but it stopped. He then when on the roof to check everything, I didnt turn my ac off at all during this because they have a service disconnect. He comes back down and says "yea the fans old and will need to be replaced soon but its working now", I said ok and he asked for payment so I paid him. Me trusting him to do his job, left the ac on and figured it was working. A few hours later the house is unbearably hot and I now see that the ac isn't turning on at all. I look at the service disconnect thinking maybe he forgot but its on. We call the company and they tell us they wont be out until friday and they can't give us our money back. We call them again because I find it unacceptable that we just paid them to come break our AC for a week. The receptionist in turn yells at my mother in law and starts calling her a liar and that shes unprofessional and that people having been calling non stop. She is the one who needs to be professional and if she cant handle calls off the hook of angry customers then maybe she is in the wrong field of work. I grabbed the phone to give her a taste of her own medicine and she put me on hold then hung up. Now its partly my fault because I should of read reviews on this company before we gave the ok to use them but I will never use them again.

I was forced to use Salyer's through my home warranty company. In November of 2020, my heat went out. Salyer's came out and got it working. A few nights later, I hear a large BOOM and my heat stops working. They come back out and when they removed the cover, it was obvious the boom was the unit exploding. After much going back and forth with the home warranty company, they agreed to replace the unit. So in March 2021, Salyer's replaced the unit. They said they couldn't pull a permit as the city was closed due to COVID. Well, fast forward to now. After spending a summer with $800/month electric bills, I had another company come out and check the unit. Turns out, the reason there was no permit wasn't because of COVID. It was because Salyer's is not allowed to do work in Shasta County. The city & county will not issue a permit to them because their work is so awful! As for my unit, they left the duct work laying on the ground (it is under my house) and it is now rotting away. The guy who came out said this would never have passed inspection. It will now cost me over $13,000 to fix their screw up. I am going after their contractor's license and their bond. DO NOT EVER USE SALYER'S EVEN IF THEY ARE THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH!!!!
