I looked everywhere to find a place to write a review for this tile contractor--and found nothing. Only here was there even a listing, but with no reviews, so this is the first. My wife and I wanted to put Heath Ceramic Tile on our fireplace. If anyone knows about Heath one knows that this is expensive, made-to-order, irregular tile. But gorgeous. Heath had a list of tile installers that it recommended and Sam was first on the list. I phoned and he immediately responded. How can that be? Isn't #1 always going to be busy? But Sam came to see the job just a day or so later. A day after that I had his bid and knew that this work, even with the costly tile, was financially do-able. On the day before the job was scheduled to begin, Sam came by, checked out the tile shipment (from Northern California where Heath is located) and laid out the steps ahead. On start day, Sam came with his installer. As it turns out, the reason Sam can respond so quickly is that he oversees several expert installers who work for him. Worried about that? Don't. As someone who once supervised a studio, I know that the studio head can make things happen expertly without touching every piece of the job himself. Sam's expert knowledge of tile laying, his wise hiring of installers, his experience at solving "issues" (which every job will have) makes it all happen. The job was finished exactly on time and BEAUTIFULLY. People come in our home and say: "who did THAT?!!!" Of course, my wife and I had to plan the type of tile, the size of tile, the color of tile, etc. so the thing isn't automatic. But hiring an expert tile group run by Sam was what got it all finished, with every piece of tile expertly lined up in place. Perfect.
