    leak coming into my basement

    Very Unhappy

    Very unhappy after their service visit(second visit on same issue). Dave was the service person. The upstairs shower drain was leaking and coming out in the basement. Dave repaired it the first time and all seemed in order. A few weeks later, the same spot in the basement began dripping water.

    Upon inspection, Dave said that the shower drain was cracked. I looked at the crack and it was fairly large and easy to see. Made me wonder if it was cracked during the first repair and if he tried to pack enough caulk on it to prevent it from leaking. I can't say for sure, but this was the beginning of a 3 plus hour journey. Dave wanted to argue that some other source was leaking, so he kept looking at other devices.

    We flushed toilets, we ran faucets, had me turn on the clothes washer and run it. None of which caused water to leak in the basement at the location where the shower water came out.

    Then he took 3 trips...3 separate trips to a parts supply store to finally come back with the replacement shower drain. All the while telling me that he thinks the source of the leak is not the shower.

    Now I've lost half a day of work and he finally installs a drain that fits. As the expert, I expected him to know what part would fit and what part would not, so I was floored after the second failed attempt to come back with the correct part.

    The third one finally fits, he installs it and wants to charge me 2 hours of labor and $56 for the drain part(made of PVC with a thin metal cover).

    I don't know if that part cost anywhere near $56, but it seems awfully high to me. And then he wants to charge me for his failed trips to get the right part!!! Unbelievable!!!

    He agrees to ONLY charge me for 1 1/2 hours of labor and proceeds to try and make me feel bad because that's all he'll get paid. None of this is my fault. If he'd picked up the right part, just fixed the shower and not looked for some other source for the leak, he'd have been done in 45 minutes.

    I do not recommend this company and will not have them back to do any work in my home. Oh, and by the way, the leak is gone now that the shower drain has been fixed for the second time. Nothing else in the home is leaking. Wasted so much time looking for another source...I still wonder why he was so sure it was something else.
