Sanchez, Alvaro
Master
Mr. Sanchez provided electrical work for me on the weekend of August 18 & 19, 2018. My experience in working with him was not good. As a person who worked as his own contractor in the construction of a 3500 sq ft home, I'm accustomed to buying the parts and supplies I need at contractor prices. I got bids from three different sources. I ended up buying the supplies from Central in Harlingen. As I looked over the supply list (provided me by Sanchez and Campos) with the sales rep I told him to call Alvaro if he had any questions. The sales clerk mistakenly placed the order on Mr. Sanchez' account. I never ask him to do that. Sanchez sent me a text at 0107 hours Sunday morning as follows: "Chief there's a problem. I have to report that you purchased the material to the Texas State Comptroller with out my permission and paid no taxes. As well as Lupe Teran. I never said or gave permission verbally or written to act as an agent on my behalf. For real did you think I would not find out? I have won law suits against Federal agents. Did you honestly expect me to pay your taxes? Man I gave you rock bottom price and you didn't believe me. No one is above the law."
After receiving this e-mail I responded back (later) advising Mr. Sanchez that I appreciated him bring the issue of the unpaid taxes to my attention. When the job was done Sanchez presented me a labor bill of $900. The agreed to price for the labor had been $600. He showed me his notes where no attempt at hiding the crossed out original price of $600 was, and was now remarked at $900. I didn't argue and wrote the checks. On Monday morning I received a call from Luis Diaz of Central Plumbing and Electric supplies in Weslaco. Mr. Sanchez had called them making similar accusations. Both Diaz and Lupe Teran were very apologetic over the mistake that had taken place.
As a retired USAF Major, and current Police Chief, I can assure you there was never any intention to defraud Sanchez or the State of Texas. Sanchez rant and reactionary immaturity were very apparent and most inappropriate. He made a fool of himself not only to me, but to the folks at Centeral Plumbing and Supplies.
I have already spoken with the plumber Mr. Campos, who also worked with us that weekend. I advised him any future electrical needs he and I might have at my residence would be handled by a different electrician. Mr. Sanchez unprofessional, foolish immature and dishonest conduct makes him a person I will not deal with hence forth.
