Terrible Experience. The whole job is a fiasco while his fees was $51,224. Will NEVER hire them Kenneth Wallace(Kenny), Sandcastle Coastal Homes again. I wished I had read the above review from Mary, Largo. I had the same ugly experience but unfortunately I signed the contract.
Kenny is a salesman not a contractor. He does not even have a crew. A one man contractor who hires workers from Craiglist or anyone off the street and does work himself so he can charge for labor and fees as a contractor but at below par workmanship. The problem is that his workmanship is so poor. You could even see daylight from the doors he hung and they do not even lock except anti clockwise. Even a handyman who charges 1/4 the price does better work. He uses cheap labor but charges contractor prices for poor quality work and double dips.
If anyone needs proof, I have pictures and testimony of his poor quality work. We hired Kenny to build a custom home. He did not even bother to do a walk through upon completion but was only interested in getting paid ASAP. I had to spend hours making a punch list of the defective work and issues that needs to be fixed eg leaks in the flashings, electrical outlet that does not work etc. I can go on and on. The list is too long to describe. I have detailed pictures if needed.
Our house was completed on July 31, 2017. It is April 2018 and we are still waiting for Kenny to fix the defects which was in the contract agreement. We had texted, emailed, called him since then and he had yet to fix the defects/issues/problems and pay us for the defective work on the stairs that he had agreed.
I do not wish for anyone to undergo the same horrible nightmare and ordeal that I had been through. I am a CPA and I spent hours documenting his work, payment etc. If you do not have the patience and time to stomach the nightmare please DO NOT HIRE HIM.
I would like to share my ordeal with anyone out there who would like to know about Kenneth Wallace from SandCastle Coastal Homes/SandCastle Ventures.
