We have engaged Sandmark for two major renovations in Southern Shores, NC on the OBX. We used them as the Real Estate agent on one of them also. As residents of Missouri who were unfamiliar both with the Outer Banks and with best practices for selecting a contractor, we needed a company we could trust and people who would watch out for our interests during the majority of the year when we are unavailable to take action. Sandmark was highly recommended and we have worked with them happily for over ten years. We did not get competitive bids or feel that it was necessary before or after. We never had a problem. All details are followed up. They continually communicate any issues to us and respond quickly. They have an excellent local reputation. The Outer Banks is an island community with many contactors who lack the reliability or ability to work without close supervision. You ultimately work with a contractor with a good reputation whom you can trust to be fair and watch out for your interests. Sandmark certainly fits that description.
