I have continually asked SB Construction to stop posting pictures of my home for advertising purposes, and they refuse to do so. This is why I feel the need to share my experience… the pictures they post do not reflect the quality of their work. There are multiple problems the contractor committed to fixing, and while blatantly ignoring my texts, he continues to post. It’s tacky and unprofessional.
The dishonesty in saying this was a full home remodel is also incredibly frustrating. This remodel was supposed to be for my entire home. We agreed to start on the top floor with a 6 week time frame and then move onto the second floor. Well that 6 week time period turned into an entire year and I refused to move forward with this company for the remainder of my home. It was a horrific experience and the aftermath of the low quality work continues to haunt me a year and a half later. I have had to fix multiple issues and have spent thousands redoing their subpar work… yet the company continues to post the pictures.
The pictures you cannot see are the walls left opened underneath the sinks… the leaks from the brand new sliding doors after every single rain… the damaged baseboards and flooring (both brand new) because of the nonstop leaks… the freshly painted walls bubbling up because the painters did not use the proper primer… the electrical issues that required walls to be reopened to assure that the live wires were no longer a safety concern… the dents and chips over all of my “custom wood cabinets and niche” that turned out to be MDF and not wood (as discussed). The list goes on and on. So many lies and so many mistakes turned this 6 week project into an entire year of frustration and lost money.
There was also a constant turnover of subcontractors. To cover up that they had actually quit, the contractor would blame me. I maintained relationships with several of them who have helped me with my issues post remodel now that they are no longer working with Ron and his team. The original carpenter let me know that Ron specifically asked him to use the cheapest material and that is why they went with MDF vs wood. The carpenter that replaced him also told me Ron asked him to do the same. The subcontractors constantly complained about the lack of communication and would bad mouth the team whenever they were in my home.
Because of the constant turnover due to the subs always quitting… because of the lack of attention to detail due to working on too many projects at once… because of the dishonesty and low quality work that was a constant theme throughout the project, I would feel guilty not sharing my honest feedback. When I saw someone else recently experienced the same nightmare, I felt bad for not sharing my experience sooner. If this review just helps one person not go through what I had to go through, then I feel obligated to share an authentic review.

BUYER BEWARE! In October 2021 I entered into a contract with Ron Shaked/ SB Construction to remodel my 2bed 2bath apartment. I live in a high rise which allows a maximum of 3 months for small renovation projects. However, Ron assured me that he and his team of professionals could have the project completed in 2 months. This was great news I was excited to hear as i'd plan to live in the apartment during the construction. After working out the issues with his insurance coverage November 1, 2021 demo work began. The demo went well with the exception of one major detail. Ron's demo guys destroyed the cast iron tub i'd planned to keep. The following day the electrical team came. All went well (so I thought) until the city inspector came to do a ruff inspection and discovered Ron's team of electricians left live wires inside the walls (see pics). Things went downhill from there. Everything Ron, his subs and workers touched was a disaster. It got so bad the building manager stopped work on the project until we could get things under control. Work resumed but sadly things never got better. Not only did Ron's workers continue to hide electrical wires inside the walls but there were plumbing issues, carpentry issues, poorly cut/destruction of very expensive marble/porcelain slabs, horrible craftsmanship and a total lack of attention to detail. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse I discovered Ron's workers had been urinating in buckets, coke cans and water bottles which they left throughout my home (see pictures). On top of all that Ron was double billing me for things he previously billed me for in the original quote. Things got so bad that I called into question Ron's credentials. Im not sure where Ron was getting his workers from but every other day he (Ron) was bringing/sending a different group of "workers" into my home who didn't seem to know what they were doing. Again I took my concerns to my building manager. She began running a quick background check on every worker. What she discovered was shocking. Some of his (Ron) workers had criminal records and when questioned they admitted they were day workers. Needless to say things came to a head as I could no longer tolerate Ron and his workers incompetence. I was spending my hard earned money for garbage. Instead of making things right Ron's solution was to abandon the project. After I surveyed the damage I requested a refund. Ron agreed to reimburse me but needless to say I never saw a penny so I decided to file a claim with his insurance company. I didn't get the full amount I was requesting but 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. Needless to say considering the condition of my apartment it was very difficult to find a legitimate contractor to take over the project. No one wanted to touch it. After months of searching I finally found a great company to complete my renovation. Putting an end to an almost 16 month nightmare that was only suppose to take two (2) months to complete. BUYER BEWARE!

We remodeled our Kitchen last summer, when we met with Ron to discuss what we wanted and needed for our kitchen it was clear right away that he knew what I wanted before I even did! His design and subsequent remodel was all I ever dreamed of and more! Ron was able to stay at the price point we needed and give me my dream kitchen. We have an older home and this kitchen has literally given the heart of our home new life. The time line Ron originally gave us was stuck to exactly, he worked diligently to make sure all deadlines were met while simultaneously making sure the high quality and craftsmanship stayed above par. I can not recommend SB Remodeling enough! We will definitely be using them and Ron again when we renovate our Master Bath!!

SB remodeling is top notch! Total Professionals every step of the way. They did 2 bathroom remodels for us and we are so happy with the way things turned out. New floors, custom tiles, replaced tub, new shower installed, sinks, counters & cabinets. SB remodeling were with us every step of the process to make sure things went as smoothly as possible & even when there was a slight hiccup, they were on top of it to make it right- IMMEDIATELY! I would highly recommend SB remodeling! So worth every penny!
Due to SERIOUS current and ongoing legal matters against Ron Shaked and Omri Behar of SB Construction and Remodeling Inc, their previous RMO, Hai Phu Nguyen and the GC, Home Creations, they hired to work on our renovation and addition, I will refrain from posting detail's and photos right now. Please make sure you are very careful and extensively check everything first before hiring them.
