By Eric R.July 2, 2017Put a new roof on our house$11,600Read more
Our roof leaked from day one The first leak our correspondence was ignored which put us, which I am a disabled vet, on the roof at midnight on a rainy night putting a tarp on a brand new roof that should not have been leaking.
The second leak was noticed in mid March, the roof being only a month old, when we called Schaper roofing they told us to go in the attic and find the leak. When we called back they ignored our three phone calls.
As time went on and the ceiling started to yellow, Schaper start in with the lies. They did finally come out and tear part of the new roof off and put a temp fix in place. Then time went on and no permanent fix, so we called and called and go now where.
At one point I was told it was taking so long because they had to order the shingles from their supplier, who is in the same small city, then one day an employee of Schaper shows up with the wrong color and wrong number of shingles from another job. We sent him away for not only that but it was raining own the street when he showed up. Then I was told by Laney, the co-owner she gave an employee some money to buy the shingles. After catching her in her own lies they finally sent out Rob, a co-owner, and another shirtless loud mouth guy to fix the roof, but no fix for the heavily damaged ceiling that has been leak on for months.
Don't let these people con you with the free gutter deal either. There is no free gutters, six after the leaking roof was installed no gutters and no schedule to put them in. Maybe the state should go after them for false advertising.

Rob and Delaine were great to work with. We had an 1894 historic Home with a leaking flat roof and hardwood floors we were trying to say they were so patient and careful to work around our guest schedule and handled all of the surprises that came up in a calm efficient and historically accurate manner I'm currently redoing the Live Oak Inn and even though Rob was really busy I wanted to wait because we needed his expertise on handling that historic renovation they're just great!

Beware! This company is a nightmare. I contracted for a roof that they said would take 8-10 weeks - they finally finished at 36 weeks. They keep giving the same lame excuses and lies (rain (we are in a drought), your next on the list (for 26 weeks!). I had to chase them down for information because they will never contact you but they will hold 50% of your money with no problem. Stay away!
