Mr Schiff did not show up on the date he set up. When I called, he said he forgot. He came the next day to see what I needed done - some repair work on my chimney outside, and a leaky gutter. He suggested a couple other repairs, which I agreed to. He said he'd give me a verbal and a written estimate. I didn't hear anything from him for about 10 days. I left a message for him asking him to please let me know if he was still interested in the job. I never heard from him again. It's been 3 weeks since our first contact. Very unprofessional and unreliable.

Robert Schiff and his team installed a fire rated door for us when we were selling our home. He took the job at a last minute request to help us out, was more than reasonably priced, and was very professional. All around good people and excellent work. I highly recommend this business!

So this post has been a long time coming, but I truly didn’t want to mix my emotions in with my review, and I don’t like knocking businesses, as I run myself as one, but I just can’t stay quiet about it anymore.
With MULTIPLE things that went wrong, south, done poorly and done incorrectly, the only opinion I’m choosing to share other then the facts, is that I would never, and will never recommend SCHIFF MAINTENANCE & CONTRACTING LLC to absolutely anyone, ever. Not even my worst enemy.. if I had one. Not even for a paint job.
SCHIFF MAINTENANCE & CONTRACTING LLC left our home in pieces.
SCHIFF MAINTENANCE & CONTRACTING LLC left us with a completely unusable kitchen that had a poorly installed, and completely in functional sink.. we need a new cabinet due to the inconsiderate cut job that was made to fit our farmhouse sink and it was unusable because he clogged the drain, and with that being said, our dishwasher was also unable to run.
There were no cooking appliances hooked up because he was not knowledgeable enough to to do so.
Cabinets were half way installed, and ordered completely wrong due to him completely mis-measuring which resulted in a completely butchered kitchen design.
Our countertops... measured incorrectly.
All trim work done on the island and cabinets are nothing but eyesores. Can’t decided if the sharpie filled in chips and chunks or the wood filler on one of the corners looks worse.
All painting was left incomplete and every wall and ceiling were left with different textures.
Our bedroom was left with no carpet, no paint job, and an unfinished door frame to even hang a door.
Our bathroom tile was done with gaps and our bathroom sink still leaks to this day. Our amazing shower has a huge crack in the pan and the grout work is extremely uneven, not to mention the tile he used has chips from his own cut job. Our shower door is not level or even installed correctly.
The beam we had to use in our home between the kitchen and living room hangs way too low because he did not remove the header before installing it.
Our floors were done completely amateur, with all the edges around the doors showing subfloor.
I honestly can’t think of one thing that went right in our remodel, except the demo work, and even then he attempted to have us file insurance claims for things that weren’t necessary.
Finally, he refused to come back until we paid him more money then what was agreed upon because of XY&Z. I won’t even get into detail, but no additional costs were ever agreed upon so demanding it before returning is completely unethical.
SCHIFF MAINTENANCE & CONTRACTING LLC was quick to take and spend our money, and leave us with a job far from finished.
