I had a Schmidt home built in 2005 in Miamisburg, Ohio and am very unhappy with the quality of materials and workmanship. Have had to replace many things and have spent several thousand dollars on this house. Also, the topsoil was stripped off and sold in this development (and probably all others) and you can expect to pay large water bills trying to keep some grass alive in this rocky and clay packed ground.
I think there are better builders out there, and I feel that for $250,000 I paid for my house, I received a decent amount of square footage, but with the quality of the cheapest builders that typically put up $150,000 or less homes.
