We hired Schmidt paving to remove and pave our driveway as well as to remove and relocate our walkway to the front door of our house. I discussed with Steve about the need for us to have our driveway slightly slant away from our front lawn to the other side of the driveway as we have an issue with water collecting on the front lawn when it rains and submerging our front walkway. He told me that this could be done, no problem. They did arrive as scheduled for the work to be done over a 3 day period.
However, now that the new driveway and sidewalk has been installed, we have an even worse issue with water collecting on our front lawn and now we even have an issue with rain water flowing towards and into our garage. When they installed the new driveway, it is now about 2-3 inches higher than it used to be. Making it this much higher obviously will not allow the water to flow to the opposite side of the driveway like we discussed initially. We were also told, after the job was completed, that we will need to bring in a truckload of topsoil to regrade our front lawn, replace the dirt from where the old front walkway was and to raise it to meet with the new driveway. Please keep in mind that THEY were the ones who dug up my front walkway - and then told us AFTER the job was done that they don't do the regrading and replacement of dirt for the work the did.
We have contacted Schmidt Paving multiple times now via email since the job was completed and have allowed plenty of time for them to respond. We have not received a single email, phone call or any other form of contact from Schmidt Paving since we brought these issues to them. To say this is unprofessional is an understatement. It has become painfully obvious that Schmidt Paving has no plans on contacting us and correcting these issues. To say we have been conned and ripped off of the almost $10,000 we paid them for this work is an understatement. Do yourself a favor and find another paving company. Obviously this one lacks the professionalism and decency to follow through with a job and make sure that it is completed correctly.
