    Repair water damage to full house

    They were hired to do my home after major water damage. It took 4 months, and cost me 48,000.00 more than what the insurance paid. Yes I did add installing two French doors, but they would have had to put sliding doors back in anyways. Plus we paid for doors and had them delivered, so no cost to Schotts. Just one example of many were we were ripped off. Think twice before using and if they tell you that you won’t be charged for something get it in writing. You will never get an itemized invoice at the finish to justify what was spent.

    So, I am in the middle of a remodel with Schott. I have to give them extreme credit. I am redoing my kitchen and building out my fireplace, as well as replacing all the counters in my bathroom. To begin, they were very much on time and reliable during the quote process. Their quotes were detailed and extremely easy to understand. There were no hidden costs or details. They ran through the project with me a few times, making sure that it was what I wanted and even made a few suggestions.

    His right hand guys are Shane and Jim. Both of them are amazing. Shane will come out and bid the job and Jim runs the job. Shane initially came out with Chris and we went through the job. Then, he came out again to check things out. THEN, he brought Jim and met with my interior designer and went through the job AGAIN to make sure that everything was correct.

    Jim runs the job and he literally texts and calls all the time and gives updates. He stays on schedule and really tries to accommodate the living situation for the person in the home. For example, I needed my stove for Thanksgiving but we were installing the granite. He made sure that I had a working stove so I could at least cook after the counters were installed. It was just a kind thing to do, that he really didn't have to do, but he made it work just to make me happy. I mean, that says a lot. I seriously can't say enough about these guys.

    The reliability and honesty factors are two of the most important things to me. These guys won't walk off the job. They have a portal where you can track progress and Jim is CONSTANTLY in contact with you, explaining what is going on and where the project is. Sometimes, he will literally call me first thing in the morning to make sure I know what is going on for the day. He has even sped up some of the timeline, which was remarkable. And through it all, he makes sure that his guys clean up as best they can, each day.

    A remodel is a daunting experience, so it's really important to have people you trust running it. That's actually really worth something. These guys are not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive, either.

    There have been some minor bumps with the remodel, but I was fully expecting that. And, fyi, anyone should expect bumps and bruises during a remodel. What is most important is that, whenever an issue popped up or a problem occurred, they immediately call and advised me. They didn't try to minimize the issue or cast blame on anyone. They just said, "don't worry, we will fix it." And they did. You can't really ask for more than that, either. Mistakes will happen - - but the question is how are those mistakes handled. I will update this review when the remodel is done. But, thus far, I would recommend them to anyone...

    Reconstruction for flooded condo
    $24,699

    My condo flooded from a broken toilet pipe in the condo above me. As a single female, this situation was emotionally draining to me; yet, Schott Development came out immediately and completely took charge. I didn't know where to start or how to deal with the insurance company. Every step along the way, Schott was there to assist me, help me, as well as explain everything in detail. I received almost daily text messages about reconstruction, who would be there as well as what time. I highly recommend this company for any construction needs. Their support was invaluable to me.

    Entire house remodel

    Schott development is AMAZING! We did a full house renovation....kitchen (including removing a wall), 3 bathrooms, flooring throughout, new trim, doors, and paint, basically everything inside. The initial bid they gave us was incredibly detailed, accurate, and easy to read. They were incredible at communicating throughout the entire process. The bid was so detailed and thorough that there were not any surprises even with a large job. The craftsmanship was also amazing, excellent, wonderful, beautiful work by everyone on the job. AND all this amazingness was completed on the shorter end of the timeline they gave early on. I can't recommend them enough. I would be happy to talk with anyone thinking of hiring them...just ask them for my phone number.

    Oversee remodel

    This Contractor is Completely incompetent.
    He is not trustworthy.
    He will tell you what you want to hear but he will not follow through as promised. He takes kick backs from all his subs. He Hires non capable people to oversee his jobs.

    Schott was used by a potential buyer of my house to inspect the roof. They said the roof was in very poor condition, was at the end of its life and needed to be replaced for about $14,000. The truth is that the roof had been replaced in its entirety in 2010! Needless to say, I would never use their services or recommend them for any type of work.
