We hired Scott in March, 2022 to install two showers in our bathrooms to replace bathtubs.
He came over, very affable and told us he could do the job for $6500.00. We had just moved to Show Low, AZ and didn’t know anyone, so we hired him AND paid him Up front the whole amt by check which he promptly cashed. He also said he could put our flooring down for $2400, which we also wrote a check. We had already purchased the wood, so he and his helpers laid it. They did a good job, but he laid the front room himself and did a lousy job. He left huge gaps, cut boards wrong, and blew it off when I asked him to correct his work.
He also brought a contract which outlined what we could and could not do, including suing him.
When we hadn’t heard from after a few weeks, I called and asked how the shower install was coming. He gave me a BS story how his person in Phx couldn’t get the right color, etc. During this time, Dona Bader, who also lives in Show Low, put out a Beware of…on Scott on Next Door about the horrible job he did for her. I saw that post and told her about our fiasco. Several others also had horror stories about this Jerk.
Anyway, I called him mid-April on the progress and told him about what Donna posted and I was going to report him to Az Contractors Board and that We wanted our money back. 20 minutes later he’s at my door singing the blues.
He has done NOTHING since he took our money in March. I called him in mid-May and told him I wanted a progress report until he started the work, no response since then.
We ended up hiring Re-Bath in June to put our master shower in to the tune of $9300, which we had to finance. This was for one shower. They did an outstanding job!
I want you to stop recommending him to people. I want him prosecuted for fraud, grand theft and abandonment of contract. Can you help me.
