Scott first came to my home to talk, make recommendations, and evaluate the scope of remodeling my master bathroom. I was very impressed with his sincerity and abundance of knowledge pertaining to this project. He and his entire crew were extremely careful with wearing protective gear during COVID, and respecting my home and family during the renovation. Their expertise is apparent in the beautifully finished bathroom!

I hired Scott to remodel two bathrooms and move the laundry from the basement to the main floor. I was initially impressed with Scott’s creative problem solving, but became increasingly concerned as I saw his work over several months.
I discovered that Scott used an unapproved and dangerous tile installation method called spot bonding in my bathroom. Instead of troweling the tile, they put gobs of mastic (adhesive) on the tile and pushed the tile onto the wall. I had another contractor look at the bathroom before the tile was grouted, and we could see the orange Schluter waterproofing between the tiles as the mastic was not spread throughout. Tapping the tile produced a hollow sound, because the tile was not completely attached. Spot bonding is especially dangerous in a wet area. This method is not approved by any professional tile association and there are numerous articles warning tile installers not to use spot bonding. Here are a couple I found online: https://www.southfloridatileinstallation.com/what-is-spot-bonding.html

Several contractors told me that the bathroom had to be redone if I wanted to be sure it would last more than a few years. I fired Scott immediately upon learning this and had to pay someone else to demolish the shower and tub enclosure and rebuild them.
I continued to learn of other unprofessional work done by Scott, including his installation of the wrong dryer vent, which would have trapped lint inside the attic, creating a potential fire risk.
Worst experience I've ever had with a contractor.
