  I scheduled Service Mechanical of Tidewater through my AHS warranty. I paid $100 to have someone come for a leaking pipe. Basically to be told my pipe has a leak in it. It was non-covered which I understood but SERVICE MECHANICAL OF TIDEWATER INC are not willing to replace a leaking pipe. Which is weird for a company that "claims: to have plumbers to say. I could have saved $100 dollars and just had my normal plumber come out. This is the second time AHS should not be sending companies for plumbing repairs that can't even replace a pipe for an outdoor faucet.

  Horrible customer service. If AHS assigned this company to you, try to change it as soon as possible. They are very rude, unprofessional and do not know what they are doing.

  A/C work

  American Home Shield assigned this company to us 5 years ago to put in a new A/C unit. It took 6 weeks and they kept lying to American Home Shield about the status. Well now 5 years later the blower went out in our unit because they didn't install it correctly. Also found out that they never registered the warranty on the unit. Now I either have to pay out of pocket to have things fixed or wait in 90 degree weather for American Home Shield to find a company that can come out sooner than 2 weeks because that is what every company is telling them. Really tempted at this point to see if anyone knows a lawyer to go after these 2 companies because it looks like we will ultimately have to pay in the end $3500 for their mistake.

  Heat Pump Motor

  $100

  American Home Shield assigned this company to fix my heat pump. I live in a condo. Built in the 70s, code requirements have changed considerably. Access to the heat pump is not only hindered by a very large overgrown bush, but my patio fence was built literally within 4 inches of the side of the heat pump that opens, totally preventing access. The mechanic arrived timely, climbed behind the bush, and worked within a space in which he could barely move. The issue was my motor had burned out. Thankfully, that is accessed from the top. He had a motor on his truck. In awkward positions while fighting the bush, he managed to get the top off the unit, installed the motor, and was finished within 45 minutes. My heat pump and AC are working great. What is not to love about them?

  Warranty Claim on Heater

  As someone who used to work as an office manager for a mechanical service company I am appalled by the customer service I received today. I received three phone calls today, within two minutes from the office manager. She never left a voicemail. On the third call I picked up and spoke with the woman about why she was calling and then informed her that it was rude to repeat call someone like that. When I asked to speak to someone about her behavior so that it wouldn't happen to another customer she raised her voice with me and hung up on me as I was trying to speak. I cannot attest to the quality of their repairs but their customer service is severely lacking.

  Never again with this company

  If you want Customer Service, then this is not the company for you. My entire ac unit needed to be replaced and I had to file a claim through my home buyers warranty policy. The company showed up on the 17th of June and told me I needed a new unit. I did like the guy that came out, he was very informative, the office staff on the other hand is a different story. After approving everything with my home warranty company so they could order the parts, I was supposed to receive a call from Service Mechanical once my parts were in, to schedule install. Well the parts came in on the 23rd of June and later that week I called for a status update, they kept taking my name and number and that is it. They never called me back. I had to call my insurance company, they called them or at least tried yet they never tried answering their phones for them either. One of the few times they did answer they told my insurance company they had no good reason for not picking up the parts, then they told me that the parts weren't even at the warehouse. After 2 weeks of them claiming that the parts weren't there and my insurance company doing their own research, it turned out that they had in fact picked up the parts on the 26th and never bothered scheduling me for service. The day before my parts were installed, they still claimed they didn't have my parts and the day of installation when they wanted payment from me and I told them no because my insurance company told me not to pay, the immediate phone response from the office was amazing (of course because they wanted money). At that point I was told that I had to pay because there were non covered charges and by the way the lady was very rude as are most of their office staff, After I told her my insurance company said no, she told me that I had to call them to call her, but why? I don't want the money. I also told her that i did not appreciate them lying about the part situation at which she started yelling at me. This is not the company to deal with, they don't deserve any stars.

  American Home Shield paid this company to do a spring check up and cleaning on my ac unit. The company came, did a few checks, were here for less then 10 mins and claimed my unit was in perfect condition. Less then 30 days later my ac froze and had to make a claim through AHS. Ended up paying a service fee for a second company to come and put 3lbs of freon in my ac!! Service Mechanical refuses to make it right. When they did the check to our unit less then 30 days ago they should have found that our freon was low and should have fixed it. Dont use this company.

  Only gave one star because it wont let me post without rating them!!! They deserve no stars
