This is the worst company ever. Stay away. My owner of my rental home warranty company uses them and what a joke. My A/C went out and the first 2 guys who came said my freon was clogged and unclogged it...nope still didn't work, second guy comes out and adjusted the programming and well nope still didn't work, so they send out 2 more guys and they said all the freon was gone and added 4lbs...well guess what still don't work, so they sent out another guy and he said there is a leaking valve so he fixed it and all is good.. GUESS what NO my a/c still doesn't work so we are now at almost 5 weeks no air and the owner of my house called someone else to come out this week. All these guys who came out did nothing but complain about the last person who was out who did it wrong and should of done this and caught this but here we are 4 visits later 6 guys later and no one still was able to fix the issue. They were in a hurry as well, very unprofessional. This company is a joke and I hope someone shuts them down.

I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but I am having a terrible time with them.My tenant's air broke on Friday. I called First American Home Warranty. They assigned Shaffer. Work order was assigned.They couldn't come Saturday (OK) or Sunday {OK)
Were supposed to come Monday. No show. . Finally came Tuesday at 5:30 and diagnosed it as a compressor fan and blade assembly. Parts were common and available locally. Report wasn't sent to the purchaser until noon on Wednesday. Called this morning (Thursday) and the parts haven't been purchased. Was told that the repair would be scheduled for Saturday. 7 days with no air conditioning.
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but come on.

This company is a sham and should be investigated by the Attorney General..Amy is dishonest and the Home Warranty companies do nothing to help. We have been dealing with an AC unit part supposedly ordered by Shafer & Sons but has NEVER been delivered or installed. Another company was dispatched but still no delivered of the compressor. No resolution by anyone.

This is an extremely rude, unprofessional company that left me waiting for them for 4 days with no a/c. Nothing but lame excuses

After have our warrantee company sent out two other "companies" to fix a problem and fail, they sent Shaffer and Sons to come take a look. In a couple days (had to wait for a part) the problem was fixed. That said, I want to clarify that 28 days passed from the day I contacted our warrantee company to the time it was fixed. There is a special needs child in the home that cannot take heat and is unable to express himself as his level of stress increases. I thank God for Shaffer and Sons. From Amy the receptionist to the technicians that came out I have nothing but praise for them. After explaining the urgency of the situation and how we had been treated by other "Show-grab-the-service-fee-and-go" companies, Shaffer and Sons fixed the problem. I would recommend this company in a heart beat to our other children and anyone else who has a problem with their air conditioner and want it fixed by folks who are polite, professional, courteous and friendly.

I had gone through my home warranty company because my heat pump had quit working all together. The warranty company had said they were sending Shaffer and Sons out. First first though was "HELL NO" because of the reviews I had read. After the tech came to my home and we started talking, Jeremy got my heat pump running again. I had also talked to Amy several times over the phone as well. Everthing has been a great experience. All of the negative reviews are crap. Thank you Jeremy and Amy

I am very upset with the way I was treated by this company. The woman that answered the phone was extremely rude to me and condescending. I was supposed to be serviced by my home warranty and they put in a work order for this company. They were supposed to give me a 30 minute window when they were on their way. They are now 30 minutes past the window they allotted and still haven't told me when they will be coming. I can't stress enough how rude the woman on the phone is.

We were very apprehensive about Shaffer & Sons coming out from our First American Home Buyers Warranty plan due to the previous reviews but noticed no reviews since Sept. 2012 so we allowed them to come. We received a call within 2 hours of their being notified we had a problem and set up a time for the next morning between 6-10 and they called at 7:00 and arrived 15 minutes later. The tech seemed to be very knowledgeable and went directly to the problem and it was fixed in about an hour . He was very pleasant and informative and even went further to check the Freon and hosed off the outside unit for better function ability. At this point we would not hesitate to have them return.

A rating of 1 star is even generous. Amy, the owner is rude, a liar, and the company is a scam. Ufortunately, a referral was made to them via American Home Shield so I would recommend that anyone with AHS warranty do NOT allow them to send you to Shaffer & Sons. They were to come out and "service" my unit, to check the differential, the refrigerant etc., charged me $60. The tech was a very strange man, seemed high on meth, was afraid to have him in my house. He did ZERO up on the roof. I called another company, paid out of my pocket and have been trying to recoup my $60 fee back from Amy for over 3 weeks. Will call this morning, next call goes to News Channel 5 On YOur Side and will file with small claims ($25 cost but well worth it) if anyone would care to join me on exposing this company for the rest of the valley to see what a sham scam operation they are.

American Home Shield should have more thoroughly investigated this contractor. I was not the only one who had problems with this contractor as you can see by this blog. We still have not received the warranty and operating instructions from the that company. I do not know if what they say was installed really was. Usually, when something is purchased, you receive the model number, serial number, operating instructions, etc. Nothing was left or sent. They are unprofessional and undependable and in 115degree heat, American Home Shield, should have put us up in a hotel till the work was completed. That is what a professional company would do. As much as the company stated they cared, they didn't. How could they? It was all words. They should have gotten on their backs to make sure the work was accomplished in a timely manner. Instead they made us suffer in brutal heat and gave us lip service. I am still furious!

My warranty company set me up with Shaffer and Sons. Same owner different address.
Let's just say I have a 3rd recall repair order. The poor guy came again last night. This was the 2nd visit. Only one working over the weekend. It was dark. He looked like he had a case of heat exhaustion. He then replaced the condenser and capacitor. My unit is doing the same thing again. After we turn the whole thing off and let it sit for an hour or so, turn it back on with the air on cool and the fan is on, not auto. If it's on auto, forget about it. All weekend long this has been happening. New thermostat. Right now it's cooling but give it a minute. I don't know how they received the great rating from BBB. Must have paid somebody off. Unit just shut itself off again. No cooling, nothing. Froze up again.

This company comiited to come out and service our broken AC.....guess what? After 3 calls to the office and more commitments they would be there within the hour.....no one showed up! I explained the AC was in my mom's home and she is 79 yrs old. Amy said she would ensure someone would be there.....oh one more point....schaffer and sons were previously out less than a week BEFORE to fix the AC and here we are again with a broken AC! This company cannot be trusted....poor custtomer service....I don't see how the have a good BBB rating. I have reported them to first American home warranty as a contractor they should NOT refer.....stay clear!!! LCB

This company is the worst! We had a tech named dave come to home and claimed nothing was wrong with A/C. I explained to dave that i did not agree as it is not normal for a/c to go out intermittently. Dave said to call back if this happens again and they would come out right away. Well it did happen again and only this time it never came back on. This past friday my husband called and spoke with amy schaffer. She told my husband she would have a tech out on sunday. She also said she would call us saturday am to give us a time range. We never heard from amy nor anyone at this company until late sunday after we called the warranty company to complain. When amy called us late sunday she never remembered speaking to us and was totally unapologetic. In addition because we were upset she refused to service us! When i asked amy why she had not returned any of our phone calls she said she just set up google mail and hadnt got into it yet? We now have a/c that hasnt worked properly in two weeks with no repair in sight.
