Steve at Shaw Contracting did an amazing job for us. We had a bad experience with a prior contractor with some bathroom tile work, and Steve was able to make it right. We decided to redo the entire marble bath in the master in addition to making the other bathroom nicer. The quality and craftsmanship were excellent. They were there when they said they'd be there, they did the work they said they'd do, they were clear in their communications, and if something wasn't going right - I knew about it as soon as it was an issue.

We liked the work so much we had Shaw do several more projects in the house - including assembling an elevator for our cars - turning our one car garage into a two car garage.

They're high on quality and reliability - and they are great at what they do.

Steve offered me an honest, thorough assessment of my home buildout plans. Thanks to his pragmatic approach, I was able to get through what is normally a stressful situation with piece-of-mind. When it came time to do the work, Steve was there getting his hands dirty on relatively small-scale, but very tricky install of French doors. When we ran into unforeseen structural issues, Steve adjusted on-the-fly, while remaining on-time and on-budget. Speaking of the budget, you NEVER find better work for a better price. If you have any questions about any line item cost, Steve is always happy to explain, and if need be, look for options. I almost feel guilty I didn't have a bigger job for Steve to do, and I would advise anyone reading this review to give him a call. Best contractor I've ever dealt with.

Steve remodeled my master bath and his product totally exceeded my expectations. He solved infrastructure issues the bathroom had and went above and beyond to make this room absolutely perfect. He's a fantastic communicator and a hard worker. I've already asked him back to do additional work and will continue to use him for all of my projects. Very, very impressive craftsmanship and an acute attention to detail. I highly recommend!!

Steve Shaw did an amazing job with my bathroom remodel. He was very patient with all our questions, offered suggestions and explained why to select particular product among lots of choices. He warned us of potential problems that we may have during demolition, hovever we did not have any problems and he didn't push to upsell us. He gave us lots options since he'd have everything removed, but wasn't pushy, just very informative.

This is the first major contracting job we have had on our 20 year old home, and I couldn't be happier with the result. We will be calling Steve for more work we would like done.

During the renovation of our circa-1948 ranch-style home in Ortega we ran into a number of unforeseen impediments that jeopardized the scope of the project. Steve’s assessment of the problems and quick, sound solutions to the issues we encountered kept the project true to our architectural design vision without losing momentum. Thanks to him, we were able to stay within our timeframe and budget. In the end, we ended up with a living space that has transformed our lives and is more comfortable to spend time with our family and entertain with our friends.

I have worked with a number of contractors, both in Jacksonville and Atlanta and can say without hesitation that, besides the impeccable work they do, Shaw Contracting is by far the most professional, easiest, thorough, honest and fair contracting company I have been involved with in a long, long time.

Steve and team did a fantastic job in creating a loft in our home out of a hallway and a reclaimed storage room. Hardwood floors, custom shelving, wall takedown, HVAC, electrical and finish work. Always on time, great communication, fairly priced, meticulous and professional. Hire Steve and his team, then stop worrying.

From replacement of a window in my house to quoting an overall reconstruction of an added room, Steve and his staff have been hardworking, fair, and completely honest with me and my family every step of the way. Shaw Contracting did a great job on my yoga studio Radiance of San Marco. We won Best of Jax 2012 for Folio Magazine and get rave reviews from our students.
It is a "hot" yoga studio with very exacting requirements for heat and humidity in the room. Steve went out of his way to do additional research about it and was able to help me avoid many costly mistakes.
Steve is smart and creative and came up with ideas that offered the special touches that people notice and appreciate -- not only aesthetically but functionally. He takes pride in his work. Steve was also a tremendous help coordinating the various parties involved -- designers and engineers -- not an easy task.
Throughout the project as decisions had to be made, he and his crew were very attentive about helping me understand the options available and the pros and cons of each. He is budget-conscious for the client, but takes no cheap shortcuts. The work is top quality and I'm sure will prove to be long-lasting.

I first met Steve at a beautiful restaurant buildout in the neighborhood of San Marco in Jacksonville named Taverna. It was my responsibility to run and maintain the new kitchen. Steve did a fantastic job of keeping me in the loop with concepts, and changes between him and ownership. My latest project has been as opening Executive Chef for Pele's Wood Fire in the Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville. Another beautiful restaurant. I have been in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years and Steve Shaw is one of the most acknowledgeable individuals when it comes to code, and safety. If you are in the market for a bid on a commercial or residential space I would highly recommend asking Shaw Contracting to have a look.

Steve Shaw did an outstanding job in fabricating and repairing my outdoor fireplace. He has excellent customer service and was extremely patient and honest in explaining all the options he could see to resolve my issue. His work was exceptional!!!! and he went well above and beyond in getting the work done prior to a large birthday party I was having. My fireplace looked brand new and received rave reviews from all those attending!!! I will most definitely have Shaw Contracting back for my other home improvement projects.

I have worked with Steve on about 4 projects now. I started with granite counters, backsplash in my kitchen and fireplace surround and mantle in living room. They are beautiful. His subcontractors were a pleasure to work with. He also worked with me onmy wood floors through out my house.

Steve was very easy to work with from the beginning of my bathroom renovation project. He was very honest with feedback about my ideas regarding what would work and what might not. He went out of his way to find vendors for my granite and tile. He is very detail oriented which worked well for me because I am very particular.
