My Husband and I are regretful Shaw Homeowners. We have lived in our newly built home for 11 months. We have had nothing but problem after problem with No care or concern from Shaw Homes. When I have gone in person or sent an email over a concern or issue we receive a curt response telling us to contact someone else. As an example of some of our problems was the roof leaking due to No sealant on any of the vents which then leaked into the lighting fixtures in our kitchen. The windows in our house have not been sealed on the outside either. We were told by Shaw that sealing the windows on the outside of the houses was a decision they made after we closed on our house so Shaw would not be responsible for our windows and we would have to pay for them to be sealed. Shaw Homes is also renting out their newly built house in our neighborhood. We were told repeatedly there would be no rental units in our neighborhood because Shaw does not rent out the house or allow the home owners to rent out their house.

Shaw Homes DOES NOT HONOR THEIR CONTRACT! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Ten months ago we were told how "lucky" we were to be building with them because prices were going up. After delays, and promises to finish our home we were informed that we would have to cough up $43,700 dollars to complete the house, without any guarantee that they wouldn't demand more before the completion. Their reason was that a clause in the contract stated that they had a right to terminate the agreement if the "construction process [does] not lead to a successful closing." THEY WERE AWARE that the cost of construction was increasing and we were told repeatedly that prices of their homes were going up and how fortunate we were to sign with them at the time we did.
Before they terminated the contract, we put the home we were living in on the market in anticipation of closing on our Shaw Home within a couple of months. It was within a couple of weeks after the home sold that we were informed that they were cancelling our contract. So, after 10 months of looking forward to our "forever" home, we are now without a home at all, and are having to start all over again with the process of building a new home, and most likely the loss of another ten months. Shaw is deceitful, lying bullies!
