Shea Builders operates under the name Shea Homes in Charlotte and I built a condo with them that is HORRIBLY constructed. My unit was not properly insulated and a fire sprinkler pipe burst and flooded my entire first floor. The pipe was in the attic and completely without any insulation or tenting (which is against code in NC). Instead of being a stand up builder, Shea hides behind the fact that the condo "passed inspection" versus recognizing that they simply messed up. I even brought the fire marshall out to my condo to show him and he said it was a BIG error on Shea's part. As for Shea Homes, they would not even take my call, come out to the property to speak to me, apologize or take care of anything. I tried speaking with John Shea, Gil Shea, Mike Shea and James Nelson - nobody responded. The day my unit's pipe burst, 3 others burst as well in different buildings. I soon found out that our community has had 9 units burst in the past few years...that is 10% of our neighborhood. I would not trust Shea Homes or any of their employees to build a good product or to even give proper much less good customer service. In my opinion they need to be put out of business. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

this builder is the most procrastinator I ever experienced. We signed a contract with them jan.. 5, 2018 and as of this writing [august 10 2018] the house just finished the rough plumbing. Last 30 days nothing has been done in the house. At the signing of the contract we were told it will be completed within eight to ten months..Last week we put our house on sale and sold it within one week .now we have to find a place to stay until our house is finished. UNBELIEVABL !
