Alex came to my house today to install an outside motion light and a light for my kitchen. He came to my house not wearing a mask. I asked him to please put on his mask and he told me he did not really believe in masks and that the virus is not worse then the flu. I asked him to wear the mask anyways, as he would be entering my house. I showed him the work to be done and asked for an estimate. He told me he could not give me one, because he had to discover what needs to be done first. He started to installing the outdoor lighting and ran a new line from an outlet to the new box instead of using an existing old light outlet that was not working. The work looks very ugly because its all on top of the stucco. For the inside work he said he needed to open the wall and pull an old light cable into an existing outlet. The way he opens the wall looks ridiculous. He reinstalled the light switch crooked with a gap. See picture. Finally after less than 3 hours of work he presented me with the bill. $585,-. Wow, that was a whopping 195,- per hour. (for himself and a young helper) Very disappointed especially considering that I now have to get a new electrician to install the line onto of my stucco inside the wall. I definitely will not be using this guy again.
