I recently had some work done by eric hunter . Looking at this bad review is very perplexing to me. My scope of work was replace my siding , roof , front door ,garage doors and full interior moldings. There work was second to none , and there customer service was top notch . I was promised a time frame and it was done 1 week ahead of time. My house finally looks like the dream house my wife and I always dreamed about . I would like to thank them by putting this review up and highly recommend them.

Based on a friends recommendation that he was honest and another friend of my friends recommendation I hired Eric Hunter to do the repairs in my
Bradley Beach house after Sandy. The damage was not terrible mostly
mold some shingles blown off, window damage and a terrible hole in the
side of my house. I could have repaired the hole and replaced the
aluminum siding. However, since the house is 65 years old and needed
some updating I decided I was going to make everything as energy efficient as possible. I would get a new energy efficient roof, ( done by a separate
company) new windows and NEW SIDING. I hired Eric Hunter for the windows,
siding and to take down walls that were moldy. I told Eric THEE MOST
IMPORTANT THING TO ME WAS TO SAVE ENERGY both in heat and cold
and I trusted him to guide me ( because of our mutual friend)
His demeanor is such that he makes you feel he knows what he's doing and you can trust him and he will do the BEST JOB for you! I picked out
windows from a catalog he showed me and did my research. They Seemed really good and the R value was high. When I got the windows they were
NOT the windows I picked out but rather a cheap version from an approved 3rd party that made the EXACT copy ( thats the name of the windows btw MI EXACT) that was so poorly made they all had some sort of damage on
them from the factory (15 windows to be exact ) AND the wind blew right
through them. This btw was right after I had Eric contract out new siding.
The old siding was maybe 30 years old and aluminum but had an R value
of 3 ( I saw the old foam board) the new siding was vinyl and the foam
board Eric chose for me was 1/4 inch thick with NO R VALUE WHATSOEVER!!! He did not use Tyvec but stole a role from my garage that his co worker said he thought was his. I asked him many times to return it and he did not!!My house is so cold now and I couldn't figure out why? I had a workman
recently come to my home and he checked under the siding and told me
what was there. THEY WERE SHOCKED ( I WAS DEVASTATED) AND SAID
THEY HAD NEVER SEEN SIDING ON A HOUSE THAT DIDN'T HAVE A
DECENT FOAM BOARD OR TYVEC ! I did have other bids and a red flag
should have been when I showed it to another contractor and he said," I
don't know how he can do your siding for that price? I can't possibly match it " I TRUSTED ERIC HUNTER TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND I GOT
SCREWED BIG TIME. !!I fired him for putting in 3rd party windows and doing a bait and switch.
Those windows were removed and replaced by a quality company. However, I only just found out about what he did to me with the siding. I am so
upset. My house is colder now then it was before. I IMPLORE ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING USING HIM, NOT TO!!!He is NOT a trustworthy man. !! While he says all the right things, he
pockets the profit and will give you the worst quality materiel. He is not a
trustworthy man and If it wasn't for( who I thought was) my friend
recommending him perhaps I wouldn't have been so blindsided.. Live and
learn. I write this review to save someone else the $ and agony he put me
through..
Shore Area Builders did a great job! They were both professional and personal and completed the job on time. I would use them again without hesitation. I highly recommend them.
