  Superiority attitude, refusal to balance ceiling fans he just installed, smoke detectors that went off in the middle of the night for two years... the list goes on. Worst electrician we’ve ever hired.

  In dealing with Scott and his son-It was good at first then went south very fast.I had to deal with his superiority attitude and how he was the best and everybody else messed up.I had to listen to him talk to customers on his phone that called to inquire when he was going to complete a job. Then when he hung up he was complaining about how busy he was and everybody wanted him to work. It sounded like he just took on more than he could handle.He was condescending to me when I asked him to do a few very small things regarding the work and how I wanted it done. When I asked him to not have his son who was installing light fixtures in the kitchen walk all over my newly sealed brand new granite counters in his work boots he brushed it off and told me that the granite wouldn't be damaged,its hard.And never put anything on the counter to protect it. Scott had his son helping him and I asked the son to put one side of the fan blade down to show the other color than the one blade he had already put up while installing some fans and lights and he gave me an eye roll and said "yeah". I feel he should have asked what color was preferred before he started.They both seemed like they were just there for grabbing the money and running.The son was the only one working in a certain area and did some damage to some items for the house and then lied about how the damage happened which cost a significant amount of money and time to repair and replace. And the detail to some of the job of installing the light switches and plug receptacle boxes was sloppy.The holes were cut too big and there were holes/gaps through the drywall that I needed to have touched and filled after they were done and left the job.While they worked messes were made and no cleaning up at all was done.I had to have some touch up painting done on an area because when they came back to install a different fixture there were a lot hand prints and black smudges all over the cover door to the attic.Later on I found a problem with a light fixture that was installed and fell out from the electrical box and was hanging from the ceiling because the plate that holds the fixture in wasn't even screwed in.The wires to the fixture were just kind of bunched up inside the box and holding the fixture up.I was very surprised at the way corners were cut on this one! I fixed this myself and didn't call them because I didn't want them in my house again.
  I have since had a different, very pleasant and knowlegible electrician do work on my house.And I will never recommend Sierra Electric to anyone I know.

  Replace and old circuit breaker panel

  We needed some electrical upgrades to our home which entailed replacing a very old circuit breaker panel. This was a major project and took the skill of Scott and Jerod as well as the coordination of Inspectors from PG&E and Nevada County.
  There is no possible way I can explain how grateful we are and how professional the service was. This major job was accomplished in a single day with Scott explaining along the way what he and Jerod were doing. ALSO, there was a major wiring issue with one of my 240v wires that was arcing against the back of the old breaker box. That was addressed and fixed as well.
  Scott knows what he is doing. I had several follow up questions about breaker capacities and he answered all of my questions by showing up and walking us through each step.
  If you have electrical problems I would not hesitate to call Sierra Electric. It was a pleasure watching a true professional navigate the rat’s nest that was my former Main Circuit Breaker panel and associated wiring.
  Also, a shout out to Monte (I think his name was) from Nevada County. Very professional.
