    Update

    Update - after filing a claim with the State contractors Board, we were finally contacted by Manuel Matar Tovar, who under pressure from the State contractors board, finally came out and completed the job. I would not recommend this contractor. He was deceptive, unprofessional, unreliable, etc., and had to be threatened with complaints to the State contractors board, and threat of small claims action.

    Terrible, dishonest, poor service

    Contracted with Sierra West to lay 150 sq. ft. of flagstone over dirt, by the time he was done increasing the bill it had increased from $1500 to $2450. He missed appointments, missed his schedule, fired his workers, etc. The worst offense was that he was to provide caps to the main water shut off and the main sewer clean out. Instead he cemented and rocked over the access areas, leaving no access, so now there is no way to clean the main sewer line or shut off the water to the house, it is now illegal and has to be redone. He was paid before this was discovered. This is the most incompetent, dishonest, person I have ever dealt with. Stay away from this contractor.

    Poor Job

    We employed Manuel Matar Tovar to lay some flagstone in a 7x23 area. He charged $2,450 to do the job, the work was poor, he installed damaged material, he rocked over two areas that he was supposed to provide covers for to provide access to our water shut off and main drain clean out, he will not respond to phone calls or emails. We have no recourse but to sue him in small claims for damages and pay another contractor to redo his job. Stay away from this contractor.
