In October 2011 my husband and I had Signature build a two-story addition with an attached screened porch for us. To date that project has not been completed, March 2012. The contractor decided to vanish when he received all but the last payment and just had minor fixes to accomplish. When we tried to have the work completed we found the contractor did not pour our basement stairs correctly (Arlington Co. code violation), did not do the electrical work correctly (blew out the main circuit board for our AC), he did not install the windows correctly (I could not even open them), he did not waterproof the basement wall correctly (he flooded our basement after he was supposed to fix it), he installed the siding the wrong way (so water was actually flowing into the windows and at the house), and the interior work and paint was so bad I had to redo it myself (caulking around windows is already cracking and the drywall seems are actually coming apart). So after this nut took off we failed our final inspection with the county and are having to pay somebody else to make the corrections. This guy was never at our house and when he was he was not supervising his guys he was in his car sleeping. We had to resort to legal action, but he was still a dead beat contractor.
