  bedroom addition

  $140,000

  What a nightmare! Quoted up to $65000 for an addition...ended up charging close to 140k using the cheapest materials he could find, never completed the project, basement leaks, ceiling leaks put a lien on my house....I could have bought the neighbors house for 130 k with an additional garage.....took him over 8 months and still unfinished. Had a contractor come through and he said he could have done it for th3 original quote with top of the line materials. I have wires sticking out of the walls.

  Shane was very eager to get our work, and went above and beyond... at first. After half was paid we couldn't lock him down on a start date. One day he called to start the job, without any warning, and since no one was home, he pulled out one of the windows he was replacing to get into the house.

  He and his helpers seemed to be pretty prepared for the job, and kept a clean site, but attention to detail was very poor. The replacement of the windows called for spray foam to fill all gaps, none was used. Calk was applied to the outside trim, but lots of spots were missed.

  There were 2 major bumps, neither of which have been resolved for over a year now.

  First, one of the screens had been torn prior to or during install. There seemingly was no final inspection by Shane or his helpers, because it had to be pointed out by us after they were done.

  Last but not least, one of the large picture windows had a manufacturer defect on the divided light insert. Which he didn't notice prior to install. So once it was in, he offered to get a new window, but have us pay for the time to install. That was not acceptable.

  For over a year now we have not had a resolution to either of these problems, but hopefully it can be wrapped up soon.
