Mark Sloan’s family has been in the Window, Door & Shutter business in South Florida since the 1950’s. Mark, a Florida Native, started in the Hurricane Protection Industry in 1975…working for his father’s best friend, Jim Schmid of Jim Schmid Shutters. Mark worked in the shop building “Clamshell Awnings” in Lantana.
Mark’s father, Joe Sloan, was the General Manager & General Contractor at Keller Windows for over 3 decades. Hank Keller (Mark’s Godfather), owned the largest window manufacturing facility in South Florida. After Hanks death and Keller Window’s closing, Keller Windows manufacturing equipment was purchased by PGT Industries.
Building one of South Florida’s Largest Hurricane Shutter Repair Companies with his 2 best friends at Shutter Services and as a founding member of the “International Hurricane Protection Association”, Mark became uniquely qualified to identify which products meet or don’t meet today’s Impact Standards.
