I used Smart Home Improvement for a small job. The best thing is that this company will do small jobs. The work was done efficiently and in a reasonable amount of time for a price that was appropriate for the scope of work. Arsen communicates well about arrival times, project progression and makes recommendations to help the client make good decisions.

By Gary M.June 4, 2018Remodeling a deck$2,500
Let me start by saying that Smart Home Improvement is one of the best and most professional Utah companies I have worked with for home improvement (I have worked with a few that have been terrible). The quote he gave me for a new deck beat all the other companies I looked into. All I can say is these guys work with respect, integrity, and professionalism. that’s why I will always work with them for anything else I need for my home they have earned my business thank you for everything

By Sarah M.June 4, 2018Bathroom remodel$3,000
I couldn't be happier with the renovations done in my home. I needed my bathroom to be remodeled , it was so outdated! Everything was done to my specifications and I was kept in the loop throughout the entire process. Any type of remodeling done at home can be such a stressful time! But this was the least stressed I've been during a process like this. I received a few other bids before i signed on with Smart
Home. Their price was just too good to pass up on and I'm so glad I chose them. I am definetly using them for my patio addition in my backyard. I almost don't want to share my experience so they don't get busy with other clients too much! But yes, you won't regret choosing them for your home improvement projects.

First of all, let me say that before I wrote that review I waited for about a week to let my anger settle down or my review would be very subjective and not objective. I contacted Arsen (Asren in business license) about my project in August and we signed the contract to start my deck project on 08/28/2018 with the completion date of 09/08/2018. He was not the cheapest guy that gave me the quote, I had much better deals, but he said that he had 5 guys working for him and he would build the decks (lower and upper) within two weeks. He sounded like a real professional and the contract looked great except for payment conditions were really weird. They wanted me to pay 85% of money within the first week (after completion of framing). Well I didn't care as long as my project was gonna be done in time and professionally. They built the frame of upper and lower decks within a week (lower deck was uneven and the had to readjust it, but it still stayed uneven), I paid them what I was suppose to pay, and that's it..... After that they disappeared and were showing up once about every 3-5 days, to work for a couple of hours. Since they were not building the deck fast enough (in accordance with the contract), I had a plenty of time to have a better look at the upper deck they were building and surprise-surprise, opposite sides of the deck didn't match in sizes. My deck sizes were 161x155x153x158. The difference was 5 to 6 inches between the opposite sides. The deck was not square..... Great surprise for me from "professional" builders. It took me almost two weeks to get their attention about that issue and to start rebuilding it. I should say getting in touch with them is hard. They just disappear for a week, not explaining anything and will not send you any messages or call you, until you start calling them. I had to disassemble the deck with my father down to the frame to expedite the process and about a week later one guy showed up and worked one week to rebuild the deck. Well at the very beginning of the project they put the main posts the way that it was not possible to rebuild it correctly. It just looks like a work of rookies even though the last guy really tried hard, and was dropping "f" bombs once every five minutes, because he saw that the deck was built by rookies. On top of that, they stained my deck once and they totally messed up with the stain. They sanded the deck but never came back to re-stain it. So today is 10/25/2018, almost two MONTHS after the beginning of the project and I had to hire someone else to finish the project, sanding the deck and staining it, so I get to keep last 15% of money to pay someone else to finish the job, but I lost 85% of my money. Materials that were used for the project were not the best either. Third of the boards already have cracks and splits(since I am not a builder I don't know maybe it's normal) and a bunch of holes from all that build-rebuilding. Should tell you, I will have to rebuild my decks (both) once I have money.
So If you decide to go with these guys, first of all don't pay them more than 30% until they are 90% done otherwise they will chase other projects and your project will have the lowest priority (just like mine was). Me personally, I will remember that project as one of the worst that I've ever had.
