  Paver patio and walkways

  Very dissatisfied with the job that Smith Landscape Solutions did for us. We contracted with them to install two walkways and a back patio with pavers. The initial work on the walkways was great and most of the back patio was done well. Unfortunately they did not fill the space between the pavers with polymeric sand so we called and texted Joe Smith many times over the next 18 months and always were treated politely with promises of “I’ll stop over on Tuesday to look at it” or “Andy will stop by next week and fix it”. After hearing this over and over again, we realized that we were being lied to just to get us off the phone. With the two year warranty coming to an end we tried once more and this time our calls were not answered, text messages went unreturned and his voicemail was full (his website also disappeared). Finally we had another contractor come and finish the job (much more work now since the spaces filled up with dirt and weeds kept growing in them) and had to pay them to complete the work we already paid Smith Landscape Solutions to do. We finally went to small claims court where Joe Smith agreed that he should have come back and finished the job - and we won.

  We had Joe build a beautiful paver patio for us. No problems at all with it. However when contracted to tear down the columns in order to pour footers for a roof over it, it has been an absolute nightmare. He has partially finished the job, has lied to us personally at least a dozen times and when his crew finally showed up they put it back together so poorly that we no longer even have columns. He never bothered showing up to look at the poor work, but instead cancelled and asked for pictures to be emailed. He has missed no less than 4 days that he himself scheduled to come back to fix it. Admitted also that he 'dropped the ball on this one'. And then skipped that day too. Now is impossible to get in touch with, does not bother returning calls and so on. Has abandoned the job completely. Will be contacting every agency that can possibily help us with our situation. I would not recommend Mr. Smith's business to anyone for any reason. Unless your job is in the 5 figure category, at which time he will fawn all over you. Until you need him to correct something of course, there is no money in that. Breached both signed contracts that he had with us as well.
