    build a double garage

    He is nothing but a crook! Plain and simple. Look up his arrest records and see what type of person he is along with his children. He took my friend for over $80,000 dollars for a garage that he never finished and now the poor man has to hire someone else to finish so he can sell his house. He took money for his own personal use so that is a crime and we are now hiring an attorney to file criminal action against him. Stay as far away from this man as possible. We will be contacting our local news agency to have them find out way he still has a license and is not in jail.

    Pour 2 slabs of concrete

    I hired SML Builders, LLC to pour 2 slabs of concrete totaling almost $18,000. Paid extra to have them pull the permit. They only put 1 slab on the permit, after telling me both slabs would go on 1 permit, (which per Permit Office is correct), he just didn’t do it. The slab he started the permit for was red tagged, and he never fixed the red tags per county rules within 7 days. Nor did he get it re-inspected prior to pouring. He poured both slabs anyway, 1 with red tags, and 1 without a permit at all. Then got paid in full. I wish I new the mess with the permits before I paid him.
    When asked about getting the permit issues fixed he stalled with “out of town” excuses for month. I finally went down to the permit office myself to figure out what to do. They had me talk with a field investigator who in turn called and sent request letters and citations, requesting compliance and Scott has been out of town each attempt. Uncooperative and Unresponsive. Being that he is paid in full, I have no idea why he will not fix this problem he created. Down payment was made in December 2016, Permit was pulled Jan 24th 2017, concrete was poured on Feb 1st, looked good so I paid the balance due on Feb 3rd. Had I known the permits were a mess I would have withheld payment. However I did not find out till after. And here we are over 6 months later, and still no compliance.
    I'm leaving 1 star because: #1 lack of responsibility, #2 poor customer service, #3 He is a Licensed general contractor NOT following county permit regulations #4 left the yard full of deep ruts from concrete truck and dozer - that he promised to have fixed, and didn’t. #5 Left piles of scrap wood, wire, buckets, lunch trash in the yard, never cleaned up. #6 Has cost me thousands of dollars, and hours and hours of my time, and it still is not resolved. I think I’d leave 0 stars if it was an option. This behavior from a Licensed General Contractor is just unacceptable. If you choose to hire Scott Larkin of SML Builders, LLC anyway... I suggest withholding payment till your job is complete and your permits are finalized.
