I had an idea and they made it come to life. My deck was rotting away and unsafe. I needed a new one but wanted it bigger and more usable. It turned out amazing. I’ll be hiring them again to do some concrete .

Do not hire!
Snave Construction is the absolute worst. Every componant of the job I hired them to do is worse now than when they started. James Evans who owns and operates Snave Construction has been completely unwilling to finish the job, or return and repair the aspects of the job that started to deteriorate only weeks or months after having been worked on.
I hired them on July 17th 2023 to refinish my stairs. He was nice and cordial at the start. I told him my availability was sporadic, but that I'd provide him with my schedule for the month the month prior. He agreed that that would be fine. Like most home renovation projects, we needed it to be done quickly, as our stairs were the only way to get from the main level to our bedrooms. I expressed this to him, and he ensured me that they would work quickly.
Once work began, only a single employee (Mike) would come over. Despite James telling me that Mike would be over first thing each morning, Mike would often not show up until 10 or 11am. He then would typically leave between noon and 2pm. Despite me being available all day, I don't remember Mike working a single full day from 8am till 4 of 5pm. After a particularly short day, I texted James to ask him about this. James responded that Mike needed to talk to him about a few things that specific day. I understand that things come up occasionally, but this was every day.
During the job, I noticed that Mike had clear coated the stairs with a can of spray paint instade of a polyurethane that would hold up to foot traffic. I brought it up to James and he said they would recoat them. This has not happened.
I also noticed that the stair treads were being nailed down without any sort of adhesive underneath. Only days later, the stairs began creaking loudly. I asked James to remove the treads and that they be secured with glue in addition to nails. Mike came back over and simply put more nails in. This temporarily fixed the issue, but the stairs once again began creaking days later. I again brought this up to James. It has yet to be addressed.
My railing is held up by iron posts on each stair. At the bottom of each post, there is an iron cap. I needed two addtional posts and caps installed. Rather than finding caps that match my existing ones, Mike bought the first available ones from Lowes. I now have a mismatched set. After bringing this up with James, he told me if I could find the matching ones, he would come back and install them. I went to Lowes and found the matching ones were literally right below the ones Mike bought. Maybe they were out of stock when Mike went. Who knows? But I found it frustrating that he was willing to do that poor of a quality job and install mismatched parts.
There are many other issues, but these are the biggest.
Fast forward to August 29th. The job that should have taken 3 days is still not complete. At this point, James approaches me and asks me if I can pay for the job so that he can pay Mike instead of having to carry the debt. He made it sound like the fault for things not being completed was mine and my work schedule. Of course it was because of Mike's short work days. Out of good will, I decided to go ahead and pay him the full $1800 that we had agreed upon. This was obviously a mistake. After paying him he became a ghost. He did initially respond a few times to my repeated calls and texts. His first response was that I had paid, and thus verbally signed off on the completion of the job. Of course this was jot the case. The work was severely unfinished. His next response was that he had several large jobs, and that he would get around to me when he could, but with no promise as to when. That was the last time I've heard from him. I continued sending him my availability for about three months before I realized he wasn't coming back.
The stairs creak loudly. The clear coat spray paint has rubbed off and the stain is wearing thin. The iron caps do not match, and the railing has come completely unattached at the top post, making a safety hazard for anyone who grabs the railing.
