We used this service as this is who our neighbors wanted to use who share our fenceline. He was very slow and due to this the price of materials went up before he came to get the deposit and we were stuck with the increase (approx $300 more than the initial quote). Then as the posts were being set I approached him as the bottom of the fence line was 6 inches higher than what we had planned. He said that was what the neighbors wanted and they were paying for the additional cement cost on the mow strip. We were never approached about this change in the plan and at that point the posts were set (keep in mind our yard was already in, the neighbors was dirt). Next, they were getting ready to pour the mow strip and they didn't even board up the bottom of the cement forms and were just filling it in with dirt. So had I not stopped them and told them not to continue until I had spoken to him. we would have had 4-5 inches of dirt above our grass then cement on top of that, which negates the purpose of a mowstrip and would look ridiculous. That was "fixed" but now the final product of our side of the mow strip is an unfinished 6" cement edge that has lines in it as they only used 2x4s to frame it and did not use anything to finish the edge so there are strips of cement where the cement came out between the 2x4s. He sent me the bill and I called him with my concerns. He said it was finished and that they wouldn't come grind down the edge. So basically my neighbors got exactly what they want and it looks great on their side and our side looks crappy. I would not use him again!!!
